Started last year 6-4, but that was thanks to a sweep against the woeful A's.

Our woeful opponent was the Nationals (1-5 in games not involving the Cubs) but we lost the series lol

We are the woeful.

But seriously, I'm still confident they can turn things around. There's just too much talent on this club for this to continue.

Exactly. During the course of every baseball season even the best teams have a 4-6 stretch. It absolutely sucks to be happening now. But the sky is not falling.

Unfortunately, the “new guy” is at least “multi years” away thanks to Jed’s new contract. 😛

They still haven't disclosed the terms.  Guess Jed didn't like all the questions in his walk year lol

Fear not, I can’t watch live the next two weeks or so, naturally they will go on a heater and get major league relief pitching for a change.

Sure. Everyone freaked out in the spring of 2024 and 2023 until the bats finally woke up. Will they wait until they’re 10 games back of first place in mid June or July before going on a heater, finish with 86 wins and miss the playoffs?. Rae, Assad and Tailon pitching 60% of their games is less than ideal.

Yeah, that’s why I called it “multi years”. That’s basically all the team says in the statement lol.

Why hasn’t Mo been in the lineup? I’m not a fan of giving Carlson or Conforto key at bats in close games. At least Conforto can draw a walk.

Give him a chance to observe since he's been terrible. Hes gotten outside of himself, chasing high fastballs and making bad contact on changeups and pitchers pitches.

Whole team is getting pitched backward and are flailing.

Seems like the entire team struggles with high fastballs.

Why havent we heard anything on Horton yet?

Kaplan just reported (it's in the Horton injury thread) that he's getting a second look and that it is trending not good.

Likely because of facing LH starters starters and starting 3 for 20 with 8 Ks, and hopefully it just to work a bit with him readjusting some things early.

Carlson Conforto Kingery,  are showing the reasons why I always bellyache about bench bats. They're not important until they are, im not saying you need 300 hitters on the bench, just guys who are capable enough to fill in when needed.

These guys and most others that Hoyer has brought in, couldn't hit their way out of a wet paper bag.

the Cubs will be 10+ games over .500 by the end of May

Not trying to be negative but I'll take the under on this. Cubs are 5-6 and they play game 60 on May 31. So that means they have to go 30-19 to get to 35-25. Definitely not impossible, but I'd be plenty happy with 29-20 and that would put them at only 8 over.
