Are you seriously going in for the personal attack on a guy you know nothing about?

It would appear as such yes.

How is that guy still in the Show?? How many times does he have to show Counsell and the gang that he sucks? Where is my buddy that says “he’s learning the ropes?” lol They give him enough rope to hang himself every single time. Pomeranz giving up that homer was rough, but due to Brown’s runners it’s now a three to one game. Guy must have something on the Cubs to still be up and working a “bulk role” joke

I’m here, and you’re obnoxious.

There’s a day off tomorrow and Counsell is just treating this as another throw away game. No reason for Brown to be back out there. This team is so unenjoyable to watch.

2 ER for Brown....  He didn't disappoint.  Well, I just felt sad saying this.

Kid is likeable and I'm rooting like hell for him but I don't agree with Counsell putting him in  high leverage situations. He hasn't been good enough to earn that right IMO.

At the risk of thread copping or whatever, I’m just not going to let the soft part of the bullpen blowing a lead in the 7th inning really concern me all that much. They aren’t pulling Cade Horton throwing a no hitter after 5 for Ben brown and drew Pomeranz next month. Keep everyone healthy, don’t ride your good relievers into the ground, and see if you can get some of the struggling arms right. And, obviously, score more runs.

Yeah, he is likeable, and I hope he gets better.  And, I agree Craig should have used Ben.

Does anyone here know the availability of Counsell’s pen? I would guess that answer is no. There is just so much hot takr bs here it is ridiculous. From Peanut saying “shocking” when the Cubs blow the lead to everyone on Brown, who, btw, didn’t give up the homer, this a maddening response. You would think this is a team under 500 not a team with the 3rd best record in baseball. Good teams lose games. Padre were swept at home by the Orioles. Dodgers lost their series. It happens.

This offense has had a hex put on it or something.  I've never seen an offense be so consistently good for a long period and then just completely fall apart like this.  It's not streaky,  it's night and day.

The way I see it this is just another struggling starter the Cubs couldn’t hit.  It just doesn’t bode well for a team that will face genuine quality pitching in the playoffs.

It’s a tune up game for Brad elder. A confidence booster for him and the 3+ starting pitchers they face every week with a 5+ ERA over the last month.

I know Elder has sucked this year, but this wasn't the case of a guy just hanging breaking balls or throwing meatball fastballs all game and the Cubs sucking. He had great command and threw very few hittable pitches. It happens.

Sure, elder mostly sucks (check his August starts though, pretty sure he just shut down the Phillies), but we put up 16 baserunners and 7 runs in 9 innings against the starters in the other two games this series. 20 baserunners, 8 runs (7 earned), 16 innings isn’t some explosion but it’s…fine?

His total season body of work is bad. I agree with that. But the last 2 starts before this one he has thrown 13 innings and given up 6 hit. 2 quality starts. And 3 of his last 4 have been good (now 4 of 5). It is baseball. horsefeathers happens.

Rogers sucks.

It appears so. Which is why he is in the game now. Counsell doesn’t ever chase wins using his high end guys.
