19 hours ago the Cubs start a game where they scored 1 run, scoring that run with a ghost runner without the benefit of getting on base.

About 16 hours later the Cubs have broken the franchise record for most HRs in a single game.

Alonso vs Busch for back-up 1st baseman in the all star game. Alonso got it last year over Busch when Busch was statistically better.

This year it’s closer.. sadly the voting is already over probably just waiting for the reveal.

So we were the first club in MLB history to hit six home runs in a playoff game against the Cardinals in 2015 and now have hit a franchise best 8 home runs against them. Nice.

If Busch doesn't make the team that's going to be one of the bigger snubs in recent memory.

from Jesse Rogers:

Michael Busch is the 3rd Cubs player with a 3-HR game against the Cardinals. All 3 did it on Independence Day: Moises Alou on July 4, 2003 and Hank Leiber on July 4, 1939

This is a first, I've never seen the leading team in a blow out go with a position player to pitch and of course their first 2 guys reaches base.
