The thing I love about this Cubs pitching lab is they are always trying new things with these guys.  Taillon's new change up, Boyd now throwing up to 95 mph.  Maybe they've been working on something new with Assad behind the scenes?  Probably not getting my hopes up with how much time he's missed.  But he's a legitimate starting big league pitcher, IMO.

He's been hurt. Doubt they really have worked on much of anything. He's had setback after setback. I'm sure they talked/looked at video but he probably hasn't been able to throw. 

Still like him just find as a 5/longman in 2026, but I just think 2025 is mostly a lost year if he's back late-Aug/Sept.
