What happened to him this year?

Bears. Justin Fileds didn't look straight down to the ground when dropping back before he came to Chicago. Coaching matters. These guys are not finished products when they get to the pros.

So, yeah Caleb is now Zach Wilson bad, Wilson, who had, 6292 yards, 23 TD and 25 INT for his career, get the horsefeathers out of here.  This season can't end quick enough.

It’s just one metric measuring sacks and accuracy. It’s not saying he’s as good or productive as Zach Wilson outside of that. Clearly Caleb Williams has shown he is better than many of the QBs he is worse than on this chart.

but you’re right though that this season can’t end quickly enough. Maybe it’s twitters wonky algorithms but the anti-Caleb faction has showed up in full force including the pro-Fields faction showing back up in full force. Unless Caleb has a ridiculous game next week, it’s gonna be a long offseason of Caleb hot takes.

Then I'd better have a large supply of popcorn at the ready. I am going to laugh at the absurdity from the anti-Caleb/pro Fields camp.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Williams' alleged accuracy issues are excessive caution and frequently not being on the same page as receivers. Whether that's better or worse I leave up to the reader, but he's pretty good at placing the ball wherever he wants to place the ball.

I went on tankathon.com and the bears are currently in the 7 spot. They should be in a good position to get at least three starters in the draft.

There is no reason they can’t be competitive next season.

This season has sucked, hard. Everything has gone just about as bad as it could have, aside from Caleb. (Who’s been up and down but has still shown enough for me to feel very good and optimistic). Of course, I’ll be feeling back and ready for football by next September. Almost no matter what happens, it’ll be very hard for them to screw up the offseason to the point where I’m not feeling better about where the team is currently. So it goes. im mostly just annoyed they wasted another year of my rooting life.

I feel like he’s trying to do too much, ie playing hero ball. Hes running around the backfield looking far down the field instead of taking the easier check down.

The only caveat being Poles' ability in picking those players.  I don't trust that he can nor do I have faith he'll make the trenches priorities.  I really hope he's given his walking papers on black Monday.

That was 100% the problem in the second half on Thursday.  He wants to be that guy but after the fourth or fifth sack it's time to let it go, and there is absolutely no leadership on the Bears to tell him to knock it off

I hear you. Between the Bears content, right winged content and drone/UFO conspiracy theories it’s really annoying to use these days. Should give blue sky another try

Yeah X is a hole.  I never really got started with it but I don’t see anything good come from it other than if you are monetizing it.  And that’s a small sliver of people.

Watching Bo Nix throw from a clean pocket today it just makes me think, how would Caleb look with better protection?  Would he be better at his reads and get rid of it quicker? Or would say hell yeah, more room to run around…

I would just like to see a consistent pocket, blitzes picked up, etc.  Then evaluate.  I feel like you can’t really say you know what Caleb is with this bad a line.

oh I think its been the case for 1/2 th season, if not the entire season. I think #1 picks take on a lot and put it on themselves whether or not they admit it. I think he'll be ok, he does need solid leadership tho.

I unfollow the idiots and use the “Following” feed instead of the “For You” feed and that makes Twitter tolerable

The Bears are only #7 because the Jets and Panthers haven't played yet this week.  There is a good chance they will be back in the 9 spot by tomorrow night.

Unless there is a real top end offensive lineman available at their pick, I wouldn't be opposed to trading down in the first round and maybe picking up another 2nd.  They need talent across the board and having 4 picks in the first 2 rounds would definitely be a good start.
