Just like when Kramer had the beautiful woman try on the bra over her blouse! He shouldn't have listened to his caddie, Sid, I think it was.

Stan the Caddy.  Kramer had a lot of interesting friends.  Especially Bob Sakamano but we never saw him on screen.

13 days to the draft.  It will be interesting how it unfolds between picks 2-8

I'm thinking Daniels will get taken before Maye. JJ will get taken after and there will be one big WR left for the Bears, but they will take an OL or DE.

If one the big WR's is there at 9 I believe the Bears will keep the pick, taking a WR, otherwise, trade down.

I don't have them handy but Poles' comments really made it sound like they're staying.

- He divided the FO into three teams tasked with arguing between WR, Edge, and OT at #9

- Mentioned the idea of loving being able to add a "blue" player (their color coding for top tier) there

- Talked about finally being in a position where they don't *need* a ton of picks for roster health

- Made some joke about getting bored that weekend with how few picks they have

Like it could be subterfuge/smokescreens/whatever but I'm expecting him to stick.  Maybe he pulls a deal like last year and drops back one or two spots if the board plays just right (4 QBs go top 8 and like the Falcons or Titans make a wacky pick), but I don't think he'll go far.

Yes, if that pick is Nabers or Odunze, the Bears could finally have a legit NFL offense.  If Williams just manages to be average, which I think he'll be, in his first season, we can wave bye, bye to struggling to score a first half TD.  Or games where 200+ passing yards seem like an outlier.

Sure are a lot of anonymous sources out there claiming they'd be "shocked" if the Bears didn't trade down from 9.

Seems like people think the Bears have only 4 picks, they "have" to trade down. Which they do not have to.

I'm game with trading down as far back as like 18 because you're still going to be able to pop one of Latu, Thomas, Verse there. After that it becomes a bit sketchier.

Eh, there wasn’t an NFL offseason thread so I put it here. Deal with it.

I mean, I am dealing with it. I could just delete it and block you from the board. Or you could just roll with the joke like a normal person.

Poles realizes one one of the big WR's is potentially one of difference making players a team needs, he's not going to trade down for trading down' sake.

Trading back is such a balancing act. I've been wondering if the best "bang for your buck" move would be to trade back, far enough to get a 2nd. Then package that 2nd and one of the 2025 2nds + more if needed, to get back to the end of the 1st.

I really like the thought of pairing a WR with Caleb on his rookie deal. And with any of the top WRs at 9, you potentially run into a "not enough footballs to go around" scenario with DJ, Allen, the rookie, Kmet, and a pass catching RB. A later WR would allow you to bring a lesser (but still very) talented player along slowly or in a specialized role, if needed.

And I also hate the thought of the DL if you draft a WR at 9 and have no picks until 75 where you aren't getting a starting caliber player. So, the balance if you trade back is how far can you go to still get one of the top DL players (Verse, Latu, Newton, Murphy, Chop).

Trading back up, especially with KC and SF at the end of Round 1 also probably works because they don't have a ton of needs being the best 2 teams, and SF in particular really loves future draft capital. But it also gets you ahead of Carolina at 33, who is almost certainly going WR.

Caleb, Verse, and Worthy would be quite the haul early and then they can go after OL and DL depth with any later picks they have.

There's a lot of teams potentially looking for WR in that range though, so you risk a higher than expected cost or not getting your guy.  As one example, the Tankathon mock has 4 WR going between 28-34, and the true first rounders in that range(Buffalo and KC) are pretty likely to take one.

Well yeah, you don't trade back up if your guy isn't there. And the reason I pointed out SF and their love for future picks is because they are THE prime target because KC could very well just stay there and take a WR. The Niners likely aren't taking WR unless they trade Aiyuk. It's a deep WR class. And I honestly, I don't really care if they have to pay a premium. Historically, it doesn't take a future 1 to trade to the end of the 1st. The Bears have 2 2nds including, Carolina's likely very high 2nd. They also potentially could get a 3 if Ian Cunningham gets a GM job (and he will if the Bears are decent). They could get a potential 4th if Fields starts more than Russ.

The prospect fatigue on Drake and MHJ is reaching stupid levels. Even ESPN is looking for any reason possible to drop them in the draft. ESPN had a mock with MHJ going to the Bears at 9. If that happens, I'm spending the night in jail.

My response was meant as a joke so no need for the stupid horsefeathers ban threat. Jesus Christ get over yourself. It’s not that serious.

Dude what the everloving horsefeathers is your problem?

Talking about OJ ruining his draft chances is a CLEAR joke.

Saying "eh, deal with it" is not a normal joke that people tell.

Saying I could delete your post and ban you over posting in the wrong thread is not as clear of a joke, but obviously, I'm not going to do that.

You're the only one that has been serious in this exchange and clearly can't read the room

Dave Chappelle has a joke on his "Killing Me Softly" special where he talks about a woman who doesn't want to be treated like a whore just because of the way she's dressed. And he compares it to dressing in a cop's uniform and not being a cop when someone comes to you with a problem. Ultimately saying, it's confusing and a natural mistake to judge a book by it's cover.

Basically, it certainly seems like you are saying one thing and then claiming opposite while wearing a "take things seriously" costume.

I think you did your fair share of escalating in this situation. No need to act like your responses were completely cordial.

It sincerely annoys me how long it takes the NFL to go from Super Bowl to the Draft. They can do this horsefeathers in March.

The WNBA has its draft like a week after the NCAA Championships. NFL can't do that (as they're mid-season), but they can do it pretty quickly after the Super Bowl.

But they never will, because the NFL markets itself as a 365 day/year sport. ESPN will lead with the NFL any chance they can get.

In fairness, WNBA teams don't need to do much scouting.

You should probably just accept that regardless of where Daniels and Maye go.
