although shawn green has had an ops of 850 or higher against righties 9 of the last 11 seasons..maybe he wouldnt be all that bad out there with murton

 

I would support this as a fall-back strategy. It's certainly a better idea than Geoff Jenkins or Raul Ibanez. Green should come fairly cheap.

So I decided to call it quits on my paper for tonight because I got part of it done and the rest of it just isn't going to come out of my brain tonight. Anyway, good to see that Kfuk is coming to the US for real now. Someone should edit the title to note the change. "Fukudome OFFICIALLY coming to USA (for real now)" would do the job nicely.

 

Ugh i need sleep. Finals week can suck my junk.

Agreed but in just 2 or 3 more days I'll be out of here and get a well deserved month off.

 

I'm hoping that by the time I'm finished with my Final tomorrow Fukudome will be signed with the Cubs. Get it done Hendry.

Agreed but in just 2 or 3 more days I'll be out of here and get a well deserved month off.

I'm secretly agreeing with you guys here about finals week, but I'm also quite sure that almost everyone else on this site would be in the college situation if they could, so I'm not going to complain about it.

 

Back on topic...glad that step one is out of the way. Being able to pencil him in at the 2 spot in the lineup every day would be amazing, and gives us so much more flexibility for more moves this offseason.

I have a bad feeling he will sign with the Padres.

 

What upsets me more is that so much is invested in Fukudome this late in the offseason.

 

 

It's not like it was a banner FA market this year. We didn't have many more choices (if any) besides K-Fuk.

I think he's doing all that can be reasonably expected in this case, I don't think it's just a matter of "Get it done."

So what you're saying is after we deal Murton in a Roberts trade, we're going to sign Shawn Green and Sammy Sosa to platoon in right? :shock:

I teach freshman writing. So for me, college never ends. Grading can be a bear, but summers are nice. :D

It is true that your college and post-college years are the best years of your life. Don't screw it up. But, as someone who is old enough to be your father, been there done that. I wouldn't want to do it again. There's plenty of good stuff later on, too.

Peavy's recent deal is bigger. They supposedly offered Kevin Brown a bigger deal which he declined to go to Los Angeles. Giles' current deal may be a touch smaller than they're offering Kosuke.

I wouldn't mind going through college again. Most of the women there are...well, college age.

 

The wife would probably frown on that though.
