Wife, in Salem with her aunts and sisters, sent me a picture of Fenway Park taken from the Prudential Building.  Has "PCA?" Written on part of the image, bless her heart.  Up until two months ago she didn't even know what the initials PCA meant.

I taught my 1 year old to chant PCA when I was watching a Cubs game the other week.  Now she thinks all sports means PCA. I was watching the Bears game on Sunday and she kept saying, No PCA, no PCA, Ms Rachel, Ms Rachel!

My wife learned of PCA via the cookie monster interview. I sent it to her.  She replied it was quite a bit funnier when she found out PCA was referencing a person.

I took my wife to Wrigley for her first time this year. She watches the Cubs because I do, but she's not a baseball-person. She did, however, want to get some Cubs gear. 

Thank horsefeathers her favorite number is 4, though, as she got some PCA gear (mostly due to his number). There's a world where he favorite number is 30 (Cabrera) 24 (Theilbar) and she's wearing a jersey a few years down road we have some explaining to do.

This is my thought. Theilbar isn’t going to be in the playoff roster. So why not activate Steele?

Steele *may* get a look in game-162, but there probably isn't going to be situation where he's much better. His velocity is sitting around 90mph out of the pen. He's gotten whiffs in Iowa but it's Triple-A hitters. The organization has gotten plenty a-look at him in Iowa and it hasn't been overly encouraging (he'd have been called up well before had it been).

I would expect if either makes a playoff roster that they are a "break glass in case of emergency". It's possible someone like Hollowel is added instead of both.

My dad stopped watching baseball shortly after the Cubs won the WS.  He texted me a handful of questions about Pete a few weeks back because he'd recently done multiple crosswords where "PCA" came up as a three letter solution.

Wasn't some of the hesitation allegedly related to wanting to see how he responded to more frequent game activity?  Or do you think that was a smoke screen to buy extra time and keep the pressure off him?

honest question: do we want justin steele to attempt to pitch in a mlb game for the first time in over a year during a weekend series where the weather is monsoon-like?

Switching Boyd and Holmes makes sense. The Red Sox are good against left handed pitching. Marlins are not. And whether Holmes goes Friday or Thursday they can still come back with him on Wednesday, if they want to. I think if they win game one of the WC series they may go with Boyd in game 2. Hoping to start with Holmes in the NLDS. And, depending on if they want a right handed pitcher or left handed pitcher facing whoever they play, any of Boyd, Imanaga or Holmes can pitch game 2 or 3. If the game is at Wrigley with the wind blowing in Imanaga is a possibility.
