Given the results of the game I’d say Murphy limited the exposure to his bullpen.

It would be nice if this gets into Harrison’s head a little.  I’m not counting on it but his velo was down and he didn’t have the ability to gut it out.

Cubs run differential is +143 over their last 70 with a 6.2 runs/game average. This has been a fun 81 days.

Also a quiet 4-7 stretch because they’ve beaten the horsefeathers out of teams with a +38 run differential.

Alex Bregman is now 15th in baseball in fWAR. You could try to tell reddit and X/Twitter that, however...

Tied with Suzuki too. Last year he’d be tied for 21st at this on September 1st. PCA has stolen the spotlight from both of them who are having outstanding years.

I’m just worried about when they face the good pitchers from the good teams

Wasn't this guy who started last night supposed to be good?

Looking for other positives, Holmes looked pretty good and that was against a good offense.  He’s also the anti-Cub pitcher, keeping the ball down to limit fly balls.

I had both of them starting in the playoffs on my fantasy team yesterday. Holmes +21   Harrison -18

I thought the same, watching the condensed game it appears they were, at least yesterday, facing the Brewers version of Shota.  Low 90's FB left over the middle of plate, basically on a tee.

The Cubs are the 4th team in MLB history to hit 60 HR in a calendar month.

Aug. 2019 Yankees 74

June 2023 Braves 61

Aug. 2026 Cubs 60

June 2024 Orioles 60

They need to do it again in October.
