Harrison mentioned in his post game interview that he thought that he was tipping his pitches and the Cubs figured it out too.

Wonder if this is going to be the new excuse when a pitcher pitches poorly, or if the Cubs are really good at it. Not illegal, so keep doing it.

If its within the confines of player vs player on the field im all for it. With technology, like ipads and such, as long as all teams have access to it, similar to the torpedo bat, i dont have a problem with it. I know some of the cheaper teams are behind the times on it, but it is available to them. Its their choice on investing in it or not.

I know you said player on player. But I assume you are ok with coaches on the field noticing things and relaying information. As long as it is all on the field all is fair game.

What does it cost to bring Holmes back? He'll be 34 for the vast majority of the 2027 season and, while still very good, his 3.21 FIP and 3.58 xFIP don't really align with his 2.09 ERA. Can you get him for like 3/85 or is a 4th year and something like 4/110 necessary? Adding him would make me feel a lot better about the 2027 rotation given the career uncertainty of Ben Brown, the injury uncertainty of Horton and performance uncertainty of Cabrera.

Sonny Gray and Nate Eovaldi feel like good recent comps, and both guys got 3 years at a really healthy AAV.

That is probably where he ends up. But not sure he would take it from the Cubs and skip free agency. It that would get it done now, I would be fine with them doing it.

I give Holmes what he wants for his GB% alone. Just tailor made for our team. True-talent is probably 3.5 xFIP for the duration of the contract IMO.

I did think to myself that Taylor looked like he knew that pitch was coming and was ready to jack it with that swing he had.

Not going to get an argument out of me. He is the perfect pitcher for the Cubs. And he should be exactly who they should target. It is just a matter of signing him before he rested free agency (which I doubt will happen) or be the top team for him in free agency. I would tbh k this is where he would want to play, too. But we will see🤷
