Per Sammon: Mets ask for Peralta is top-100 prospect and more.

They are not going to like the answers they'll get but sure ask away.

I love that the Mets expectations basically means that they believe yeah he's been bad this year and yeah he's a free agent at the end of the year, but if you get him off our dumpster fire team he'll probably be good again.

Top 100 in the team's system I assume.

Peralta now scratched from his start tonight after initial reports that he was going to pitch. The Athletic listed us as one of 4 teams with the strongest interest in him earlier today.

Certainly interesting that Peralta has been scratched and the Athletic mentions the possibility as intriguing . I guess will be keeping an eye tonight on minor league lineups

Add Mize to the "guys getting scratched" list

Not gonna lie it feels like the damn is going to break.  I know baseball execs love nothing in the world more than to procrastinate so I have my expectations on Sunday night for the fun starting in earnest but the tenor of rumors makes it seem like we're closer than that.

Some names for context that have been discussed in a White Sox trade for Peralta -

Those are nice prospects but as expected that is a farrrrrrrrrr cry from "Top 100 guy and more"

Value wise (but very much NOT style-wise) that feels something like Cepeda and Southisene.

I’m patiently waiting on our minor league affiliates to drop their lineups just incase something stands out. Lots of rumors and starting pitchers we’ve been linked to being scratched has my antenna up even if we are still a little early
