  1. Nothing is wrong with him. Ole Miss decided to start Taylor Rabe their 1st game in Omaha because he’s been phenomenal for about 2 months now. Their typical “Friday Night” pitcher is Hunter Elliot. He’s a program legend type player that really has no future in professional baseball but they just bumped him back a game. Cade was getting the ball on Tuesday had Ole Miss advanced. As far as Cade putting on Instagram “not done yet” I don’t buy it. I’ve heard it was an emotional post he made after a loss. He’s super close with the Ole Miss pitching coach. He literally has lived with him for the past year. I think that has played a part. I think his last 3-4 stars being mediocre has messed with his confidence. It could be a bit of a leverage play also. I don’t expect him back next year though. I’m pretty dialed in here, so if I hear anything more concrete I’ll post an update being that he’s projected in our range so often and several times has been projected to us.
  2. Rabe was bumped up to game 1 starter for Ole Miss tonight against UNC in Omaha. Everybody can get a glimpse of him that would like to tune in.
  3. Had TJS his true freshman season. Pitched midweek games last year and out of the pen on weekends. Started as a multi inning reliever this year before working his way into the rotation April 2nd and then turning into Ole Miss’ best starting pitcher. He made 9 starts after entering the weekend rotation and went 6+ in all but 2. Im just glad he’s getting the recognition finally. He’s been dominant… sometimes even more dominant than the box score indicates because college defenses are so bad normally.
  4. Somebody much smarter than me will have to break that down. He’s primarily a fastball, slider, cutter guy that will mix in sinkers and changeups (I said 4 pitches but it’s 5). I don’t have any data behind his secondaries (the part where somebody smarter than me comes in). The fact that he’s 98:11 K to BB says he controls all his secondaries pretty well. D1 baseball is saying he’s getting 2nd round buzz and could climb all the way to round 1. It was reported there were scouts up to 15 teams there to watch him last night. I’ll post a few videos below of some his starts this season.
  5. I’m not getting any traction on Taylor Rabe, but I’ll shout him out one more time. 7 innings 2 runs (1 came from a botched run down from Ole Miss) and 8 K’s on the road against #4 national seed Auburn. I’m just saying don’t be surprised if he works into the first round and seemingly nobody is talking about him. Not sure why. He throws 4 pitches. Throws 97. SEC ace. Has only walked 10 batters all year with 98 strikeouts.
  6. Again. Put Taylor Rabe on the map. I’m screaming it from the rooftops. 6 IP / 1 Run / 9K’s on the road against 1 seed Nebraska. Hit 97 on his 110th pitch of the game.
  7. As I stated earlier in this thread, I’m pretty dialed in on Ole Miss. Cade is awesome. Love everything about the kid, but something seems off with him currently. He’s gotten shelled his last 2 starts. He left a start earlier in the season after sailing two pitches. MRI came back clean and it was called “shoulder inflammation.” He missed like 2 starts and came back and looked normal, but now I’m not sure if it’s injury, fatigue, or what… but it doesn’t look right. I’ll be interested to see how he looks in the regionals next weekend. He will be on around 14 days rest by the time he touches a mound again.
  8. If Wiggins is a good enough headliner to get a TORP, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Love Wiggins upside, but I’m afraid there’s always going to be some type of injury that constantly brings him back down.
  9. Was thinking the same. Makes it easier to move Peralta also
  10. Make that 6 innings / 0 runs / 1 BB / 13 strikeouts for Rabe against Alabama. Striking out Justin Lebron 2x tonight as well. Just a fun name to watch not many are talking about…. yet
  11. Another Ole Miss pitcher to keep an eye on is Taylor Rabe. He is really coming on. It’s 96-98. I’ve seen him hit 99 this season as well. Very polished pitcher. Changeup, cutter, slider. He doesn’t walk people (8 walks in 56 innings this year). He’s a late bloomer, but really flashing. He’s currently pitching against Alabama tonight: 5 IP / 0 hits / 0 runs / 1 BB / 11 K’s. That’s coming off a 14 strikeout performance against Texas A&M last weekend. He did have one inning that got away from him last weekend, but he’s special. 2 years ago Ole Miss hired Joel Mangrum from the Guardians organization to be their pitching coach and the results are phenomenal. As somebody that is an Ole Miss season ticket holder, I’ve witnessed it first hand. He’s really getting results in a short period of time.
  12. Cabrera has electric stuff. Just feels like with the success we’ve had developing pitching over the last several years, they figure out how to put it all together.
  13. This is funny lmao
