Happ has been a top 3 left fielder in baseball the past 4 years or better. Also always around OPS+ of around 120. Probably a top 30 outfielder overall. But other than that he has t done a thing. So you guys are right.

While I am fine if they don’t sign him, let’s not act like he isn’t good or doesn’t deserve to be signed again if he would take a 2 or 3 year deal.

Once again, Cubs fanbase undervaluing Happ.

You're extending him for what hes done in the past and not considering if he has a bad year this year? I'd hope Hoyer looks at his production or lack of before considering to extend him or not, not what hes done previous years.

He's gonna be 33 next season,  his better years are likely behind him now

Milwaukee’s turn to go on a couple ten game winning streaks.

Cubs looking like they’re about to run the other direction. Tough to watch them at the moment

Can anyone explain why they keep throwing breaking balls up in the zone to Mike Yaz? Every pitch he has done damage on has been a spinner up and in the middle of the zone. Really bad.

We spend years complaining about Jed not spending money on the bullpen and the first guy he spends money on sucks. Maybe he had a point

He was at 90. And with a depleted pen he has to get innings out of the rotation. Who did you want him to bring in?

He got 7 and theyre not depleted, just not very talented

Another waste of good start by pitchers?  They did that last time, when Jamo pitched well.

Never as good as you are at your best, never as bad as you are at your worst.

Just hate that we have the Sox this weekend. Will be annoying if they win the series.

Not diminishing it but that mostly due to the 9 homeruns,  other than that what he done?

He has a 32% K rate

If Maton wasn't a shiny new free agent acquisition, he'd be on his way to Iowa tonight.  Brutal signing

Or DFA’d

I didn’t say that. If fact, I said if they didn’t extend him I would understand. My issue is your suggesting he hasn’t done much to give the Cubs a reason to sign him. He has been very good for many years. You are now making a different argument then what you originally said and what I took issue with. Once again, you continue to undervalue Happ.
