That's what I'm hoping for if Mo doesn't turn into that guy.

I'm also starting to like the idea of both corner OF positions opening up this off-season.  Keep one or the other between Happ/Suzuki and then go all in to get a star caliber outfielder that can slug.

Agree..  as of now, if they keep one itll probably be Suzuki,  Happ has his moments but overall he hasn't given much of a reason to extend him.

Crazy to see them with 27 wins when they have 6 regulars barely hitting

Crazier that every team in the division, except Brewers, has played 40+ games and they are all above .500 still.

Shota didn't have good commands of his splitter, but he pitched great.  I really don't know why, but when he doesn't have good splitter, it's usually Carson catching.

Can you imagine if Shota didn’t accept the qualifying offer and was currently doing this for another team while all our pitchers arms are randomly falling off?

Exactly.  It's time to find a guy that can win a silver slugger and not a gold glove

Happ has been a top 3 left fielder in baseball the past 4 years or better. Also always around OPS+ of around 120. Probably a top 30 outfielder overall. But other than that he has t done a thing. So you guys are right.

While I am fine if they don’t sign him, let’s not act like he isn’t good or doesn’t deserve to be signed again if he would take a 2 or 3 year deal.

Once again, Cubs fanbase undervaluing Happ.

It's called disaster.

Does Counsell not like bringing his relievers in for a clean inning,  so many times he leaves a guy in with a high pitch count and they give up 1 or 2 baserunners before being pulled

I'm not under valuing him, he's a baller.  But his skill set is redundant with many others on this team.  And there are only 2 opportunities to improve this lineup in the immediate future, which is the corner outfield positions.  Got to give up something to get something greater.

This team has like 5 guys that can and probably will win a gold glove.  They have 0 that will come close to winning a silver slugger.  Need to have balance

He was at 90. And with a depleted pen he has to get innings out of the rotation. Who did you want him to bring in?

I am so, so happy that the Chicago Cubs don’t have some cringey thing that the fanbase does at games.
