I mean Kelly is still a good player though. There isnt any reason they shouldnt be playing matchups there.

Yes, however outside of April and May of last year, he is a below average hitter.  He had a small resurgence at the end of the year, but track record suggests that catchers on the north side of 30 don't all of a sudden become good hitters if they haven't been in their whole career.

I really do think the the WBC was big for Palencia, closing out critical games including the championship.  Obviously he's been really solid before this but it had to have given him an additional jolt of confidence.

A 1 hitter where the one hit was a horribly misplayed fly ball by Conforto that should have been an out.  Oh well.

That was a snoozer. These are some perfect conditions for Shota

I'd like to think so but, right now he's a gopher ball machine.  Don't have much faith he'll be effective.

1 HR allowed in one start = gopher ball machine?

Was also a crazy pitch that Wiemer hit the hr on, well below the zone

And, for some reason, Wiemer was the best hitter in MLB in the first 6 games or so.

Wow. I didn’t expect Happ to play again. Give the guy a break.

Does Bregman get this response at every road stadium he’s at or were Cleveland fans particularly angry about the Astros scandal?

They don't have many options. It's either Shaw and Carlson in the same lineup and Happ at DH or someone like Conforto/Ballesteros as lefties.  And it's April 5th, they had the day off yesterday. He's been a good player his entire career, he's had a bad handful of games. He can work through it.

And maybe the hit was a good thing so GC does not leave hiM out there with a no hitter.
