Those LHB can't hit the changeups.  Very cool.

Looked it up, batters hit .115 BA/.154 SLG with 48% whiff% on his change last year.

Guardians announcers mentioned the ball has been flying out of every cactus league park the Guardians have played at this Spring.  Good to know not just the Cubs pitchers lol.

They said temperatures have also been well-above seasonal and the warmest anyone can ever remember since teams have started playing ST games in AZ.  They said it's so warm its like the weather is 2 months ahead of schedule.

Yeah, I heard that, too, and the guy also said Iowa Cubs.😄

I'm in SF Bay Area, and the next few days will be over 90 degree, which is definitely not normal.  It's 7:30PM now, and it's still over 80.  2 months ahead is right.

Yeah I'm close by in Elk Grove, not looking forward to 90 in March

If Palencia pitches tonight for VEN, would he be able to pitch again tomorrow?

Depends on pitches..

They were saying Miller is uncertain for USA after pitching yesterday

I am going to the game Friday. They had to change it to a night game because Friday it is supposed to be 106.

Here comes Palencia.  I don't know the pitch count thing, but hopefully, VEN wins today, and Palencia can pitch again tomorrow.

OK, so VEN won, and Palencia made only 15 pitches.  He should be able to pitch tomorrow, right?

Here's what I found.  WBC rules;

- Consecutive Days: If a pitcher pitches on two consecutive days, they must have 1 day of rest.
- No consecutive games: A pitcher cannot pitch in three consecutive days.

According to this, both Mason Miller and Palencia can pitch tomorrow.

Kevin Alcantara has three balls in play tonight and all three were hit at least 105, that's fun

Per the rules yes, but cubs and padres have a say as well.

Thanks (I also have now discovered Savant and can do this for myself next time!)

If Seiya is out for any period of time, I hope they let KA have the first shot (of course, then he’ll have his usual ice cold April and May...)

I just found the Cubs gave up 43 HR's (Jamo 8, Rea 5, Schultz 5...)  The Cubs hit only 19 HR's.  They should hit more.

What is the most realistic worst case scenario for Suzukis knee? Can’t afford to lose his bat.

Worst case would be they have to amputate it

It's interesting because on the one hand Craig said something about how Kevin will be up if they have everyday at bats for him.  On the other hand he said something about Shaw being the RFer if Seiya can't go.

My guess is if Seiya's out a few weeks or less Shaw and the vets fill in, if it's a disastrous injury (which it doesn't sound like) Alcantara will get some runway.
