That’s an exciting/fun lineup, even without the Cubs 3 most exciting/fun players.

So cubs. Put them on TV when the NCAA has all their league championship games on. Don’t put them on during the week when there is absolutely nothing else on.

Who is 1st and 3rd? Very good underrated player, but I don't see him getting a huge 5+ year deal. Afraid he could end up in Cincy where it seems he is Babe Ruth.

I think Steven Kwan is 1st.  When you count guys who move around like Soto, Happ is still 6th.  Among all OF he's 15th.

He's very consistent and almost never gets injured.

No news yet

Hopefully just a bruise.

Counsell said today that Rojas is fine after yesterday, just left for precaution.

Im optimistic as well. I like to think if there was serious concern he would have had some imaging done in Miami

Yeah. Big 10 and SEC championships, selection Sunday, and the players championship (PGA). Wonder why ratings are low for the random Cubs spring training broadcasts

Yeh, this has been a weird ST with them

I haven't been able to get excited about cubs baseball yet,  maybe it a combo of players playing in WBC and mostly non starters playing for cubs, plus lack of game coverage.

At least in the past when they were on wgn i looked forward to the weekend games and knew i'd see most of the regulars at the start and then the minor league guys playing after the first couple innings.

Im going to jump off a bridge if I have to suffer through Taillon pitching during the regular season. This dude is a crime against the concept of pitching.

What do they with him and his 18 mil once Steele is ready to go hopefully by May.

Stick him in the pen and wait for a team to be in need for a starter because of injury

Last year about 19% of Taillon’s fastballs were 93 MPH or above.

This spring through the first two innings today he has 2 in 88 tries.

He looks COOKED

Doesn’t look good. That is for sure. But he also might be a guy who takes a while to ramp up. He might be someone who needs spring to get his velo up. Obviously there is food reason to be concerned. But I do think he still could be a useful 4 or 5 in the rotation.

So, does Brown go down to minors or back to the bullpen when Steele is activated?

cuz Ben Brown is your 5th starter, not Taillon.

in all seriousness, I think we will be thankful for Brown, Assad and Rea before all is said and done.

I’m audio only (waiting on T-Mobile free mlb)

Any report on how Shaw looks in CF would be appreciated. Has to be better than he looked at 1B.

Starting to genuinely wonder if he’s gonna be on the roster opening day

Taillon still sucks, I think theyre gonna regret not trading him and signing someone else

Half his pitches have been balls so clearly he's not on today.  Not the time to panic yet. He's a command guy and if he's off then he doesn't have the stuff to get away with it.

Velo still down a tick today.  If he puts up around a 4.50 ERA/xFIP this year they should be happy with that as a #5.  Let's just hope Shota does ok.

Wonder what his velo was last year 1st half vs 2nd half.  Or the last month or 2

Me, too.  I remember Jamo gave up a lot of HRs early (May and June?).  Then, he got hurt, came back, and looked way better.  Then, he missed a few weeks, came back, and he was still good.

Average fastball velo was 92 exactly starting from August 1.

I used to this site to find it: https://tjstats.ca/player/jameson-taillon-592791/?id=592791

PCA in the lineup again tonight over Buxton

Henderson over Bregman and Smith for Raleigh. Hopefully Skenes can get thru 6 innings and USA hits Severino hard early and often.
