Kade Snell with a 111 MPH double is nice

He probably needs to make quick work of South Bend to stay on track.  SSS but promising ST numbers make you hopeful he's about to do that.

Without games to watch, the ST has so terribly boring.

Was thinking same thing earlier today,  I cant remember the last time I felt uninterested during ST.

Even when they do televise their games,  it usually without regulars

PCA another homer in 9th

8-6 1 out

USA will still probably lose but those 4 runs are huge. These tiebreakers are confusing but I think they would need Mexico to score 6 runs if they win (or of course an Italy win).

Without those 2 bombs they would need Mexico to score 10

Just let Italy beat Mexico to keep it simple.  Only cool thing tonight was PCA.  No Bregman = L.

Apparently Derosa thought they were already through to the next round regardless of the outcome last night.  What a moron.

And nobody on the team, coaching staff or otherwise, thought any different. They partied like they won something the night before, put in the B team lineup and pitching, and only really looked like they understood what was going on in the 7th inning.

PCA may have bailed them out, but there is a very real chance they don't advance (they need a result other than Mexico winning a low scoring game to advance), and at this point kind of deserve the embarrassment as a result of their ignorance and arrogance.

Ramirez with a grand slam. He has had a great spring.
Hoerner follows with another long ball.

At the game. Shaw looked awful at first base. Broke toward the ball on every play, always late to the bag. Error was ugly.

Sounds about right for a guy that's probably never played 1B in his life.

Ohhhh Hunter Harvey is sitting 98, I love it

Prior to '25 Harvey sat 98 MPH in relief.  Last year he was at 96, though still effective in SSS.  Prior to today Harvey was sitting under 97, which was not a red flag like Taillon but certainly yellow.

Harvey looked great. Also Shaw’s hbp may have been elbow. He stayed in for another AB, but came out before the other regulars.  Not sure if hurt or just awful.

Optimal scenario is Mexico is up 4-0 in the 9th, has clearly punted the last couple of innings to stick it to the US, then Italy scores 5 in the 9th to win.

He isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. It will take a long time for him to learn a new position

I kind of hope Team USA gets booted from the tournament.

Big difference between being smart and being baseball smart. I get what you are saying about Shaw, personally. But he did learn 3rd base very quickly. He does appear to have a high baseball IQ. Yes, day to day life he is easily fooled and not very smart. But that isn’t the same as baseball.
