There was some allusion to Hottovy trying to adjust his mechanics, but I dunno

Thanks.  Like Jamo said, I hope he finds the way to help the team.

It's not good that we still have no word on Seiya, bracing for the worst.

I think he just jammed it - day to day and will play opening day.

I think we'd know more by now if it was some kind of tear

Yeah I think not getting an update until Craig's pre-game media availability is a good sign.  If it was a catastrophic injury it'd probably leak sooner.

I understand people’s concerns since the Cubs do trend to slow roll bad news, however, in this case, Seiya didn’t have imaging in Japan and then had to fly to Az. So not hearing anything yet, makes sense. Personally, I think he will just be day to day. Didn’t look like much but Cubs aren’t going to say that until they see him.

FYI he was in Miami when he was hurt.  But point still stands, likely wasn't going to do any tests with Team Japan, especially because they were eliminated.

My bad. I just read he will be in Az today and just thought that was because he was flying from further away. But as you agreed with, the Cubs won’t say anything until they actually see him and run their own tests.

IMO it's notable that neither Taillon nor the team is doing any sort of Allen Iverson style "we're talking about practice" with this right now.

The fact that they didn't shuttle him right to the tube makes me think nothing catastrophic is expected, but this does not sound like a guy who is gonna start the season on time.

We've heard some pitchers say the cutter flattened their whole repertoire and affected the velo. I wonder if that is the case here. Could just be "dead-arm" and he needs some rest. Either way it sucks and he probably shouldn't start.

I don't think it's dead arm since it's been all spring, including the WBC where he'd presumably have a strong shot of adrenaline.

That said they said some vague stuff about mechanics and his lower body.  He's a guy who has gone on the IL with a leg injury every year here, so hopefully it is something he can work through with an IL stint.

I am now “officially” beginning to worry about Seiya. Shouldn’t take that long to get MRI results. You would think they would want to get it done early today. So they should have the results and yet we haven’t heard a thing. Cubs seem to wait as long as possible whenever they have bad news.

Seiya got hurt less than 48 hours ago and would've made it back to camp about 24 hours ago.

Counsell this afternoon said Seiya was getting an MRI today.   Hopefully we know more tomorrow.

A reporter asked if he were possibly starting the season on the IL regardless but he said he'll wait for the MRI before decisions are made.

Thanks guys. I didn’t say I was being rational. I said I am starting to worry. I have had an MRI before and found out results pretty quickly. I would tbink for a professional ballplayers they would be able to have them looked at pretty quickly. Why does it take a day to get results? This is why I am concerned. Maybe irrational. But you also have to realize the Cubs do tend to slow roll bad news. Which, again, concerns me.

The fact that he had a knee brace on coming off the plane is not great. Fingers crossed on the MRI news.

Horton is getting tons of whiff on his change to lefties

7 K’s in 3 innings. He looks very good. Guardian announcers are raving about him.
