I think the Vikings decision had something to do with the cap but more to do with having just drafted McCarthy and not knowing what you had in him because he was hurt his entire rookie season. Apparently one of the last straws for the Vikings re: Kwesi was the fact they couldn’t get onto Daniel Jones, who would have provided McCarthy insurance this year. They almost certainly qualify for the playoffs if they get Jones and not the gaggle of back ups they went into 2025 with.

anyway it’s really funny to let a Super Bowl winning QB walk out of the building because of JJ McCarthy. What a disastrously embarrassing move on every level.

The Vikings were banking on the thought that Darnold benefited from their system and thought McCarthy could do the same. They think(it still might be true) KOC is a QB whisperer. Hence not paying Darnold. Maybe they thought it was another Matt Flynn situation

It's ironic that the "stick to sports" crowd literally will not horsefeathers shut up about not sticking to sports. I can't emphasize enough that I know nothing whatsoever about Bad Bunny except that the Nazis hate him. If they had kept their fat yaps shut I never would have even known he exists.

Wasn’t it largely based on two bad starts to end the season? Fans half jokingly were thankful that Darnold turned into a pumpkin at the end to prevent them from making the mistake of signing him.

if they win one playoff game they probably sign him

Is just me or is Patriots receiver room not very good?  The blocking difficulties not withstanding, I think a big part of Maye' problem last night was the lack of quality receivers.  Looking at the statistics, Diggs had a big year, playoffs, against better competition, not so good.

The Patriots overall weren't very good and got where they did on the back of a weak schedule and beating CJ Stroud and Jarrett Stidham in the playoffs.

Even funnier is apparently Trump posted on Truth Social that the Super Bowl halftime show was brutal, which means he watched it instead of the alternative show.

There are photos of Trump, at his Super Bowl party at Mar-a-Lago, with the Bad Bunny show on the TV's

That said, there are no new "truths" on his feed since yesterday morning

The two times per year I try to catch up on popular music is New Year's Eve and the Super Bowl (I'm old).  It was an interesting show.  I already know what Brantley Gilbert and Kid Rock are all about as musical acts.  It might not have been my stuff (I'm a metal fan through and through) but hey - it was kind of cool.

The halftime show was miles more entertaining than that turd of a football game.

Someone probably turned off his wifi or made it a local network so he could vent racist horsefeathers and no one else would see it. He still said something about the halftime show and kickoff rule before the game.

I see it now. Just his usual word salad

I could not name a single Bad Bunny song, so I had low expectations, but I thought a lot of the visuals of the show were great. The lyrics, on the other hand, if what I have heard is true, are typical of what the entertainment industry churns out and just trash. I’m tired of the over sexualization of literally everything.

I stopped watching SB Halftime Shows probably two decades ago. Zero interest in halftime entertainment.  Or the bloviated "analysis".

If you stopped watching 2 decades ago that tells me the halftime show isn’t for your demographic anyway. Mine neither. I have learned to just realize no one cares what the older people think. They are there to entertain people under 30. It looked to me like BB did that.

I neither like or dislike BB. I watch a few minutes of Bad Bunny, thought it was fine and went to binge Invincible.

Entertainment is absolutely geared to a younger crowd. That doesn’t necessarily mean if someone is older they can’t enjoy it too. But generally the demographic entertainment is targeting is younger than you at 51 and me, at 65. I think both Kendrick and BB had good shows. I liked BB music. I would have liked Lenrick better had I understood everything he was again and also knew some back story on his performance. But, visually his was also entertaining.

Not always. Stones, The Who, McCartney by himself, Tom Petty just to name a few old artists that performed. Mornin' Joe just laid it all out. It was a capitalist move by the NFL. They had games in Spain and Mexico this year. They want that Latino demographic to join in on the NFL fun. Bad Bunny is the #1 streamed artist in the world right now. Perfect time for him to do a show.

I'm not a fan of Bad Bunny, but I rank his show among the best ever. I think the controversy this has stirred was necessary because we are possibly going to need to sink all the way to the bottom before this country can begin to heal. Might as well piss off the MAGA's to the point their heads explode.

The NFL doesn't need to convince people who are NFL fans to watch the Super Bowl. The NFL needs to convince people who aren't fans to watch the Super Bowl in order to become fans. They've already got the middle age to elderly white guy market covered, so why would they dedicate a half time show to that market? You'd think the business guru running the country would understand that.

The #Chiefs have converted $54.45M of Patrick Mahomes’ 2026 salary into a signing bonus to lower Mahomes’ salary cap number from $78.2M to $34.65M, freeing up $43.56M in cap room, per Adam Schefter.

Proof there is no such thing as a salary cap.

He's always been a favorite of mine after he torched Ohio State singlehandedly with Brohm at Purdue. I wish he had more NFL success, sad to see this...

What is the percent chance Crosby actually stays in Vegas?

He was posting how he's excited to go back to the Raiders

This offseason?  Probably more likely than not.  Baltimore backing out really screwed with his market, and even teams that may have once been interested are likely now gunshy about trading anything more than conditional picks for him.

However, I could see Crosby and the Raiders come to an understanding that he'll be with the team up until the deadline next season (or the next offseason) so that he can prove he's healthy.
