Just a reminder that "back tightness" isn't an actual thing like all the other "tightness" injuries Cubs players have had this year, like Tucker's "calf tightness" that magically turns into "calf strain" and doesn't heal for weeks.   Why don't they be honest and say "Cade has back soreness".

thanks again Swanson like every year down the stretch. This game is on him

His error tonight. It will go down in history.  Now will you STFU already?

You see, Brian, I never once said if I was a Kirk supporter - you, along with some others here are blinded by your ignorance and hatred that you so ignorantly call those that disagree with your views. It is the definition of hypocrisy.

I love the idea of a society where people of differing opinions can express those opinions and be met with open minds.

Those opinions absolutely cannot,  under any circumstance,  include:

"Group x does not have a right to exist"

Do you understand why?

Once that threshold is crossed,  there is no longer a civil debate to be had.

Kirk believed some of our friends and family should not exist.  He espoused these views proudly to millions of people.

Glad they waited until the final 10 games of the season to lose their most games in a row and all. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙄

We are all Homer Simpson this week

I don’t expect San Diego to lose more than 2 games the rest of the way.  They may win out.  Brewers did not try to win tonight.  They’re in rest mode.  AZ isn’t that great.

Arizona is a game out of the playoffs. At least they should be trying. And they are better than the Cardinals.

Now THAT is an intelligent response. I mean that - you stated something that isn’t divisive or offensive. Thank you for a civil response, unlike some other close minded individuals here.
Whether people agree or disagree shouldn’t be a problem. You responded disagreeing with me and it was done with an intelligent statement. I’m not being sarcastic one bit. Thank you for your response and doing so in an intelligent manner. Your example can hopefully show some of these others the right way to debate.

someone just called you out for pretending to take the moral high ground, and you just do it again right away. this is like the only play you have. act terrible, then act surprised and clutch your pearls when people treat your poorly for it. you don't deserve a real debate because nothing you do or say is in good faith.

The bullpen seemed too good to be true. ****** error by Swanson, this team can’t afford to make defensive mistakes but the Cubs scored 3 off of an error and a misplayed fly ball themselves. They’re no longer playing teams that are 10+ games under 500 and can’t get a single win.

This isn’t a team, it’s 2 teams. This particular team doesn’t have 2 MVP candidates at the top of the order and Suzuki on pace for 40 homers like they had in the first half, they’re a 500 team that struggles to score and was able to win on the margins vs teams 10+ games over 500. This is who they are.

Why is "this" the team they are? Don't get me wrong, the first half and the second halfdifference  has certainly been a vibe, but other than recency bias, there is about equal amount of information to suggest either is "who they are".

We are currently seeing all across baseball that over 162 games, very few teams have any sort of singular identity. The Tigers, Mets, Guardians, Cubs, and Dodgers have all had vastly different and inconsistent seasons.

I'd be remiss if I didn't say that I'm a little concerned about their recent play as we move forward and that it's pretty easy to say "here we go again" on a lot of things right now. At the same time, it feels incredibly pessimistic to just claim things like "this" is who they have always been. Not everything needs to be negative, man. There's a middle ground where we can accept that baseball is a  weird sport, over 162 games things go up and down, and remember that while yesterday sucked, the last five games have sucked, that it's going to take two wins next week to change everyone's feelings.

Because this particular team doesn’t have the leading NL MVP candidate in PCA, The mystery of Tucker, another MVP candidate who we’re hoping is at 80% health and Suzuki flatlining. We have 3 completely different players. The teams strength has become a weakness. Yes, this is a different team and any stabilization from those 3, mostly Suzuki and PCA, has been non existent, they hit a wall. I don’t believe This team doesn’t have the pitching to lockdown a playoff caliber offense and pick up the offense and vice versa.

Anything can happen though. Even the Pirates could take win a best of 3 and the Cubs have much greater odds of doing that than the Pirates. But I’m not exactly riveted by them at this point and that’s just the wild card round.

This team is limping into the playoffs. And by limping, create yourself a visual of the men coming back to camp after battle with limbs missing, bloody bandages around their heads, limping and heads hung low.

We'll get 'em next time, gents!

Only the Cubs can make a 90 win team unenjoyable. Well, that might not be true, but it's hard to like the product on the field right now. Maybe they can change the "feels" next week. We can only hope.
