Mets fans are going to hate Cubs fans for eternity if they beat them after getting swept by the Reds over the weekend...

Good, the Cubs fans have experienced a horsefeathers-ton of pain at the hands of the Mets.  About time the Cubs did some hearts crushing of their own.

This series starts tomorrow, for anyone else who might be confused.

MLB or TBS was confused as well, did anyone noticed MLB had the Mets at Cubs on TBS last night?  Saw it several times during Cubs-Reds.  Thought, that's cool, Cubs get to play day-night, double city, double header!  Would have to be split squad.

I've been a bit out of pocket, has Craig announced the playoff rotation?  Because the way they're coming at the Mets is a bit ambiguous.

With the Cubs going Horton-Boyd-Shota coming out of the offday, one option is to go the same order for the wildcard round, with everyone getting extra rest, a week between starts.  The other possibility is Boyd/Shota start the WC series on normal 5 days rest, and Horton is going Tuesday/Sunday this week to set up for a potential NLDS game 1.

There's pros/cons either way, but I assume the plan is the former.

I think it would be real risky to hinge the rest of your playoff hopes on the guys who haven't exactly been stellar of late in the first two games of the WC series.  I'd bet Horton gets one of those two and if there's a game 3 it's all hands on deck.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed but I’ve been doing my best to avoid current events for the last week or so. Did Matt Shaw really skip Sunday’s game to go to the Charlie Kirk memorial??????

FFS where are his priorities? A horsefeathers racist podcaster and you skip a game a week before the playoffs for his memorial? Hell, the Ricketts family probably flew him on their personal jet.

I think the plan is the former, and the almost-worst case scenario* plan where Sunday matters is the latter.

*Worst case scenario is by the time we get to Sunday we've already lost HFA

He should be grilled by the beat reporters, but I'm sure nothing will come of it.

Have to think Imanaga will be Game 1 on regular rest, he probably will only go 5 on Thursday against the Mets.

I personally feel it'll be best to go Horton for Game 2 and then they can go with Boyd with Taillon warming up as soon as Boyd gets in trouble if needed for Game 3.

The Cubs have often tried to get Imanaga an extra day of rest, so why wouldn't they do the same here?  Horton on 6 days rest followed by Imanaga on 5 days rest makes more sense than Imanaga on 4 followed by Horton on 7.  I feel like if they planned on Imanaga to go in Game 1, they would have lined up the rotation differently for this week.

I think it they don’t need Sunday for home field they hold Horton to start game 1 of that first series. If they need him for that game and for home field, he just might pitch Sunday. I think home field matters that much. But if they do secure home field before then I agree it will be Horton first. Then Imanaga. You also might see Taillon instead of Boyd. If there is a 3rd game that would be Thursday, so Taillon would be on normal rest. And he has done better than Boyd lately.

He was....he said he was friends with Kirk and would text with him after every Cubs win.  Kirk's wife invited him and they connected due to their shared faith.  🤮

Interested to see what reaction, if any, he gets when he comes up to bat for the first time tonight.
