At this point if the Brewers play .500 baseball the rest of the season which would be a significant drop off from how they’ve played the last 3 months, the Cubs would need to go 29-17 to win the division outright. Barring a 4-1 Or 5-0 series next week its going to be extremely difficult to win the Central

I think it was yesterday someone in the game thread called this. It's not a magician or a petting zoo but it's something.  I think the only way the Cubs can vault past the Brewers is if Turner shows his Truck nutz again.

On the bright side, the Cubs will likely play Milwaukee in the NLDS if they advance past the wild card, and that will basically be 5 home games.  It'll be fun to watch Brewers fans crying if they lose that series

They may play the Dodgers in the WC round.

Walk-off homer by create-a-player Isaac Collins, what a shocker.

All I can say is I'm glad I'm not a Mets fan.  All our bitching the Mets went out and spent and spend and the can't beat anyone lately.  And they paid the Cards closer and he could not pitch a scoreless 8th, the some guy I never heard of hits a walk off.

It's gotta stop some time right?  I do remember the Giants winning over 100 games fairly recently and no one could figure out how

I’m going to the game tonight and it says it’s delayed. Any indication of a start time at this point? I’m about a 5 minute walk from the park right now and don’t want to walk over until I have a better idea of first pitch.

No approximate start time has been given yet. They aren’t very close by the looks of it.

They are playing historically good baseball. It’s crazy.

Brewers have earned this lead in the division.   That said, they are due for some sort of a slump and the Cubs are due for some positive things.   Probably won't be enough, but things will even out a bit in the next 1.5 months.  I hope.

Honestly I don’t even care about the brewers any longer. I will worry about them when the Cubs play them. Until then I couldn’t care less what they do. If they are going to win 97-103 games this year the only thing the Cubs could do it try beating them when they play them. First in the regular season and then in the playoffs. If the Cubs get right and win 92 95 games and are playing well going into the playoffs I will be happy with the season and believe they have a chance to go far.

If they win the division that would be great, but today, id be happy if the cubs could just right themselves and finish the season strong with momentum heading into the playoffs.

Do no worse then the no.1 WC spot and get to the NLCS and beat the crap out of the Brewers there as their luck runs out.😅
