Honestly I can't fault how Counsell handled that 8th inning. A six run lead seemed like a good spot to ease Wicks back in, and when it started to go sideways he went to his best reliever.

Just realized Pressly was given the win not the save. I get it since you don’t want to give the win to Roberts.. wish they could just give it to Rea.

Meaningless but still..

Getting hosed in the save category in my roto league!

Just watched the bottom of the 8th D’Backs feed. They took it surprisingly well.

Yeah, I also got a kick out of Brenly referring to Turner as "the red menace".

Hodge's ERA up over 7 now. Can't believe they called that Workman misplay a double.

I could definitely see the official scorer changing it to an error.

I’m ready for Shaw again at 3b.

I think it’ll be a short stay in Des Moines. Let him get into a rhythm and get his confidence up and call him back up.

Vidal Bruján sounds like an exotic shampoo

Tell me you’re old without telling me you’re old.  Of course it takes an old ass like myself to even know.

Hell yeah!!!!! I honestly turned the TV off and stuffed my face with Chinese food, would have loved to hear those dipshit Arizona announcers call of that, they we're putting that one up in the W column.  Creaming in their collective pants about the Diamondbacks supposed 8th inning magic when, really it's facing the joke known as the Cubs bullpen.

To my credit I did turn off the game thinking they gotten to Jarvis before, maybe they'll make it close.  That's a a ball busting way to lose a game for those jagoff Diamondbacks - good.  About time those MF'ers got a taste of their own medicine.

Is there a reason Kelly is still in the 8 hole?

No reason to move him and risk disrupting his mojo. Just let him cook in the 8 hole.

Wondering if the Cubs have ever given up 10 runs in an inning (in the 8th, no less) and still won.

Incredible!

Wondering how many times that happens across the league.  Probably <1 per season.

That was the first time since 2006 a team scored 10+ in an inning and lost

Re-watched the top of the eight, besides the GS an awful lot of luck went the Diamondbacks way.  If Hodge doesn't deflect Perdomo' GB Hoerner has it for the third out.  Then, of course, there's Grichuk' "double" which really was an error although, since Workman never got a glove on it, I doubt it'll scored as an error.  But, in all practicality it was an error.  The GS should have been it and the Cubs would have won 7-5.  Dipshit AZ announcers cackling, "...some years just have that special vibe and so far, 2025 is one of them...", , yeah, for the Cubs!!!!
