4.2, 2 hits, 1 run tonight

Gave up the leading run and Neris still had his struggles all against the worst offense in baseball. If that’s reliable to you we have different standards.

We gave up one run in over 4 innings and neris gave up one baserunner and then picked him off? If you’re expecting more than what our bullpen just did, you’re going to hate cheering for any baseball team.

IIf a 15-1 NFL team needs a 20 point comeback to beat a 3-14 team, yeah that would be disappointing.

2006 Bears vs Arizona was a 20 point deficit and I was not disappointed.

More like the 96 Bulls beating the expansion Raptors on a last second Jordan 3 pointer.

I just think might not be grasping what I meant by “lights out” in this instance. No one accused the bullpen of being bad tonight. I’m saying they gave up a big run. Again. To a terrible, terrible team.

but baseball is so different on a daily basis. Coming back from 5 runs down is great regardless of who they’re playing imo.  I get it though, the Cubs have been extremely bad lately and so frustrations are heightened.

Anyways, Cubs win. Glad I kept checking in and got to see the last couple innings. Hopefully this is the game that helps them start to build some momentum.

Yeah, I need to keep reminding myself that baseball is just a different sport. Even a “bad” ML pitcher can beat you up and a lineup will not be on from Day 1 of a season. They will have cold days or even weeks.
Anyway, came back and won and that is the main thing.

Denny Green made that one of the most satisfying comeback wins in my life.

For what it's worth, the Sox just played the Brewers in a three-game set.  And the Sox had the lead in all three games only to get swept.

You are both right.  It was an overall good effort by the bullpen - when is the last time their ERA has been that low for a game? - and it still felt really shaky at the same time.

Hayden could have gotten the ball down more but that was not a terrible pitch. It was in the shadow zone and unfortunately Robert was just sitting on it.

Luis Roberts is not a terrible player.

Can the brewers keep playing Philadelphia, please?

Cubs are starting a stretch of 22 games against teams all under .500. Haven't looked at the Brewers schedule but hope it's a heavy dose of Phillies, Braves,Dodgers,Yankees,  and Orioles lol.

I went to bed when they were down 5-0 figuring that the Sox would find a way to lose. Happy for the win. Cubs are the tallest dwarf tonight.

The biggest takeaway from that game was that the Cubs appeared to be enjoying themselves for the first time In weeks

It’s wild just how bad the White Sox are. On pace to go 40-122.

Just wait until they complete their sell-off prior to the deadline. The White Sox might not win any games in August or September.

Don't they play the Cubs in August?

I honestly don’t really see what they have to sell that would make them worse than they’ve already been. They can trade Robert, but he’s missed all but eight games so trading him doesn’t make the team *worse* than their season to date.

There was a Rosenthal article yesterday that the Padres are interested in Crochet. He’s got 3.5 years left of control left, though, so I could see them preferring to hang onto him.

Erick Fedde is their third and final trade asset of any consequence.

It’s dire.
