I can’t say I love the Hector Nero’s ride. Reminds me of a less effective Carlos Marmol with less than half of his K rate.

“Biggest comeback of the year”. In a game against the White Sox.

Not sure if that isn’t a piece of trivia to be proud of.

I’m pretty down on the Cubs too but can we at least try to enjoy things a little bit?

(pending 9th inning shenanigans)

Exactly. It’s hard to feel encouraged when we’re fighting tooth and nail with the worst team in the league.

So tired of the Wesneski relief experiment. Gives up way too many home runs to come in in tight, late game situations. No reason Hodge or Little shouldn’t have been in

What part of his numbers are unacceptable to you

-The cubs message board favorite player has a brutal error that leads to an early deficit that the team makes up through fun hitting and good bullpen work

-well this one doesn’t count

Of course I enjoy any win or good inning this team has. I am just not enamoured (been a while since I used the word in a sentence, good time for it) with the teams recent play.

Neris gives up some hard hit balls so he decides to nibble and walks the 9th place hitter.

now a  PR is coming in to test our catcher who can’t throw anyone out.

ugh

Yeah, I think you can be happy we might win while also feeling discouraged with the overall play. The defense has been rough all year and that continued tonight. Shota was getting squared up a bit, the bullpen is still not lights out. Is what it is. I’ll be happy we won but my concern won’t be diminished one bit.

Speaking highly of a players base running skills before the player gets picked off a couple minutes later is undefeated.

I look at it different in baseball than other sports. If a 15-1 NFL team needs a 20 point comeback to beat a 3-14 team, yeah that would be disappointing.

but baseball is so different on a daily basis. Coming back from 5 runs down is great regardless of who they’re playing imo.  I get it though, the Cubs have been extremely bad lately and so frustrations are heightened.

Anyways, Cubs win. Glad I kept checking in and got to see the last couple innings. Hopefully this is the game that helps them start to build some momentum.

I was about to stick a fork in my eye listening to Stone and this new Dufus but then the pickoff happened. Music to my ears

What was that TOOTBLAN doing out there?  That guy could have stolen third standing up, but chose to dance around like a little leaguer and get himself picked off.

lol. And they just attempted to pick him off 1 pitch before. To be caught that off guard like that is insane to me.
