The Cubs are 5-5 in their last 10, have lost 2 in a row to the Braves, the offense has been putrid of late, everyone is hurt, our pets heads are falling off, yet they remain only 1.5 games behind the Brewers for the NL Central lead.  All is not lost and they have a 4 games with the Pirates coming up to hopefully right the ship a bit.

Go Cubs!

Except in 2 of those 4 they have very good pitchers going. They play the Brewers for 2 and neither pitcher starts. Against the Cubs in the 7 they play them now, 4 are started by their top young pitchers.

Sounds like Luis Vasquez is still in Iowa, which he probably wouldn't be if they expected Hoerner to be more than day to day

This will likely be done for tomorrow when they return home to play Pittsburgh if Hoerner still can't go, he'll be put on IL.

I couldn't find the record. I did see the Yankees broke the record in 2019 with 29, but that was still late August. Assuming they couldn't push that much over 35 we've got a shot 😅

Feel like this topic gets discussed enough in here. Little bit for everyone in that we're at less than 50% which seems bad, but also generally pretty average overall in the grand scheme of things.
