Just got back from my kids baseball game to see we're winning, awesome.  But I still have scars from the series last September so I don't want to put the game on and have it potentially ruin my night lol.... I know I'm weird.

Javier Assad and Shota Imanaga battling for the Cy Young while carrying this MASH unit to contention wasn't on my bingo card.

This is getting incredible with Assad.  A couple of weeks ago I was thinking he could end up in the ASG discussion but my sights are much higher now

Seiya doesn’t have much to show statistically since coming back from IL, but he’s really been hitting the ball hard..  Lots of really hard/long outs.

If PCA can make more consistent line drive contact he's going to be a big problem

As soon as I saw that the LF wasn't cutting that ball off, I knew it was an easy triple.  Probably the fastest Cub baserunner since Campana? I don't count Billy Hamilton because he was never truly a Cub. Maybe Terrence Gore? But boy is he fast.  It would just be gravy if he could hit .240.

I kinda like if this is Counsell plan for Brown,  seeing him pitch every 4 or 5 days for 3+ innings if needed.

Keeps him stretched out, gets him needed mlb experience, and saves the pen for a day

He's actually hitting .260 now, which I wouldn't have guessed. But you're absolutely right. He's fun.

Assad was dominant today. There will be days when Javier doesn’t always have it, like Steele on Sunday, but you know he will be excellent more often than not.

I would love to see PCA become a hitter like Brett Butler was..

He was awesome with getting bunt hits and had great speed

And of course as we slobber on him he takes that hideous AB with the bases loaded and 1 out. Good thing it was low-leverage.
