Maybe Morel goes back to Toronto to play 2B . Morel +PCA and keep adding . Trading Steele doesn’t make much sense for the Cubs IMO. . They are looking to add a TOR arm to go with him .

I would do Morel and PCA in a heartbeat for Bichette.

You missed the “keep adding”. Who else is included?

Morel and PCA probably get it done… or very close to it. That also depends on what the Blue Jays want. Maybe they want Horton instead of PCA. Or PCA and Brown. We just don’t know.

I don't think PCA is really on the table here.  Bichette only having 2 years to FA caps the value, and I can also see them being a bit gunshy about expecting immediate prospect production in CF after getting burned by Varsho who did have one year of MLB performance.

Yeah let's not go crazy on what Bichette costs.  Bichette was 48th in MLB in position player WAR last year.  Ian Happ, who half the fanbase wants to fire into the sun, was 56th.  A Bichette trade will hurt, but let's not act like it'll be something wild like what the Nats got for Juan Soto.

I'd think Canario/Alcantara would be of interest to Toronto as well, given their lack of OF bats. I'm really hoping that this is where the  Cubs cash in on the value Triantos built up in the AFL.

Morel, Alcantara, Shaw, Assad. That feels like an excellent package.

I am not sure I would even want to give all that up. Maybe instead of Shaw a little lower down the list. Maybe Murray?

I may have over-compensated to avoid the "keep dreaming" type of comments but I also think there's a good shot that Bichette bounces back to the 5 war player he was the previous 2 seasons.

there's nothing to even bounce back from. the only reason he was under 4 was because he missed time. his offensive numbers are wildly consistent

I would vomit if they did that. Morel and Assad, can add Brown or Farris.

Would Bichette have to adopt the Nick Madrigal running throw?  I don't understand how else that arm plays at 3rd.

I don’t know his arm strength at 3rd since obviously there’s no data on him throwing from there, but plenty of notable guys have relatively weak arms from 3B. I’m sure he would be fine there. I mean Ke’Bryan Hayes only averages 81 mph at 3rd and he’s elite defensively. Bichette had a max of 91 MPH from SS this year, so he obviously has enough juice to let it go a bit if he needs to. It’s not good by any means, but I wouldn’t be too worried about it.

I love Bichette but i'm not giving up Horton, PCA or Alcantara for him. I'm borderline on including Cassie in that list too. I think the Cubs have the prospect depth to get a deal done without having to move any of those guys imo.

Horton definitely not, PCA probably not, Alcantara I'm willing to let him go.

None of these proposed Bichette trades have enough "hurt" in them. We are talking about a 4-5 WAR player at 25 years old with 2 years on control that plays SS. The Blue Jays need pitching and OF. I have serious doubts of them being interested in Morel. His one hope is 2B and the Blue Jays already have a Morel at 2B that put up 2 WAR in 35 games.

I'm so hesitant to give up Alcantara for anything at the moment. His ceiling is just so high if he hits it.

He only has 2 years of control left.

I think you could get Bo, Soto and Alonso for very little farm hurt for the caliber of player you get back.

plus you got some money to sign either jap SP

In what world? You'd be lucky to only have PCA and Horton left.

Are you saying all 3 of them? There would basically be no farm left after that.

Yeah that seems a little heavy.
