At least from the very top, I'm gonna assume, yea, not possibly that dumb.  What dumb sports guys (Poles, Flus) might do for a cover up... Way more likely. We've seen that story play out before - here recently in Chicago.

But if it really is CP (not confirmed at this point), hopefully that's an obvious enough "turn him in don't cover it up" scenario

Just doom bonering and preparing for the worst. I just found it odd that it's suddenly because of "health issues" when even the actual reporters hadn't heard anything in regards to that.

Because it sounds like the Bears are going with the health and family angle but Biggs said that reporters have been operating under the assumption that its not a health and family issue for the last few days

this reads like breer knows it's something besides "health", but not the thing everyone is talking about it being.

I'm trying to think of what could be considered "horsefeathers crazy" that someone could also try to spin as a health/family thing

I don’t think any of your doom-bonering is about football actually. The Bears (and their fans) are often vehicle for it, but it really feels more personal for you and dystopian than football

Literally what I was just thinking.  Like "sorry we started a rumor that you were a child predator, good luck with the chemo.".  Is that rumor only because of the rumor that the FBI raided his house/halas hall (which the bears said didn't happen)?

The whole thing started when someone I think is fairly connected on twitter, but not a mainstream reporter claimed that he heard something about the situation with Alan Williams that was shocking (or something like that, its posted somewhere in this thread).  The CP stuff was all from twitter randos that have a big following but no credibility as a reporter.  Eventually, enough people amplified it that it became a "thing".  But there are still people like Biggs that are saying that they have heard there's more going on than a health issue.

Also interesting the Bears threw out the Peterman/Bagent news in the middle of all of this.   Obviously they aren't going to bench Fields anytime soon, but now Bagent is an injury away from getting his shot and now in position to be the guy if they do bench Fields later in the season.

Yeah something does not add up. I believe Biggs, that they were operating under the assumption it was not heath or family.  Unless maybe it a substance abuse problem,  but who knows
