At Truist Park one time there was a guy in line in front of me who was stopped at the metal detectors, and I only noticed something was amiss because I heard him say "but there aren't any bullets in it".  He was so upset that they were making him check his damn pistol.

1. Why do you need a handgun at a Braves/Reds game?

2. If it has no bullets, see question 1 above.

It's the most White Sox set of events that have ever happened. The only thing that would have topped it is if people ran on to the field and started beating coaches again.

As a resident of the St. Louis are for the last 20 years, I can say with great confidence that this absolutely could have happened at Busch.  The number of guns stolen out of cars from Jefferson County parked in the downtown St. Louis area is astronomical.

The new security scanning at Wrigley has led me to question whether anyone is actually paying attention and would they actually catch someone sneaking a weapon into the ballpark.  It certainly makes entering the stadium easier, but it often doesn't seem like anyone is actually monitoring the entry points with the exception of the ticket scanners.  I walked in with a backpack last night and nobody said a thing.  Are they still supposed to manually check bags/backpacks or are they relying on the security scanners?  I have no idea.  With that said, I'm sure this latest incident will result in all the MLB clubs reviewing their policies, so hopefully that serves as a wake-up call to anyone who needed it.

Stadium security is a farce and rather pointless.

Nearly all security at public places is for theater. Make people feel safer at the expense of convenience and efficiency.

Sox up by a run in the bottom of the 9th. And here's how it unfolds:

-error on a simple grounder by T. Anderson

-soft hit floater single to left

-fielder's choice, out at second

-with runners on the corners, Witt lines a double to RF; TIE GAME

-lineout to SS, runners still on second and third

-IBB to load 'em up

-BALK on first attempted pitch, GAME OVER

They are horrible and I think they may have mostly given up. Good Luck Chris Getz.

Len Kasper, your table is ready. It’s a foldable table missing a leg and with a reused paper tablecloth. They don’t have any busboys to clear it and you have to serve yourself, but it’s ready.

I feel like the level of disfunction on the South Side has been pretty funny but it's approaching the point where it's just plain sad.

they just lost benetti to the tigers

That's a really crummy loss for the Sox.

Wonder if they try to tap in Len or if he sticks with the radio. The only reason I even bring it up is because calling a World Series was part of why he wanted to do radio, and that's clearly not happening for him anytime soon.

ETA - I see in their statement the Sox already said Len is committed to radio, so never mind.
