Sox just traded Bummer, coming off of a horrible season, to the Braves, for Soroka, Shuster, Nicky Lopez, Shewmake, and Riley Gowens. That feels like a big win for the Sox even if Bummer bounces back. That's a pretty good package.

I figured Bummer was some sort of nickname, but nope, there was a relieve named Bummer on the Sox. Quite apropos

Hard to believe this isn't a Derwood post

Am I supposed to feel shame for not knowing former white sox relievers? I unapologetically do not follow non-Cubs baseball.

Thought about starting my own thread for this but this is the catch all Sox thread.  WOW this would be amazing if it happened and a game changer for the White Sox imo.  10 minute walk from most of the Loop, easy to get to from office buildings downtown, not a far walk from the CTA and imagine having a backdrop of downtown Chicago.  Hope this happens.

As sometime coming from well south of the city, the ONLY thing the Sox have going for them is easy access and parking off 94 without having to go into the city.  But I've been there maybe once in the past 10 years, so I'm not sure why I really care.

Rinesdorf is 87. He bought the White Sox for $19M!!!!! in 1981. I think he only owns like 20% of the team, but it's the largest majority. Crazy stuff. That's all I have to add.

I can’t count how many times I’ve driven right by the Sox’ stadium on my way to the Cubs and thought, “I should go to a Sox game some time,” and I’ve never done it.

Yep, pretty much every time.  "Look how quickly we could have got to the Sox game" as I drive by and then sit in traffic on my way to Wrigley.

Some renderings that were apparently not supposed to be public but were found

Think it’s a mistake to not have LF face the river with RF looking at the skyline but other than that not bad at all

"Glass Joe" Jimenez might be headed to the IL, 3 games into the season.

When I thought the Cubs were going to win that trade, this isn't how imagined it playing out.

And now the 0-3 Sox are losing 9-0 to the Braves

They ended the game after 8 innings.  80% of the money wagered was on the Braves and Vegas was able to cancel all those bets because the game didn't go the full 9 innings.
