At this point I've convinced myself the White Sox are going to do something monumentally stupid like try and attach Benintendi's contract to Crochett.

They have now had three different 25 game stretches this year where they have gone 3-22

March 28 (0-0) to April 25 (3-22)

May 15 (14-30) to June 12 (17-52)

Jun 29 (24-61) to today (27-83)

So the modern record for most consecutive losses in a season is 23. If the White Sox continue losing, they will face the Cubs having lost 23 in a row. The Cubs could potentially have the opportunity to be the ones who cement the '24 WSox as having the longest losing streak in MLB history.

Not sure it'll happen because a team will let them get a win just to end the streak. All part of "boys club" in the game.

They probably win both games in the Kansas City series if it wasn't for Bobby Witt.

What? No. This is not even remotely a thing. No team wants to be the team to lose to a squad with a sub-.250 winning %.

No one wants to be apart of anything. Whether if it Pujols hitting 700 homers or Wainwright getting 200 wins, but it happens.

Remember last year when Wainwright struggled to get close to 200 wins, and he just got it on back-to-back starts? That stuff happens more than you think.

Think about Derek Jeter...

These are professional athletes with jobs, money, and playoff spots on the line. And pride. No one cares about throwing the horsefeathers White Sox a bone. This isn’t tossing a cookie down the middle of the plate to a Cal Ripken Jr. in the 2001 all star game. It’s avoiding the distinction of handing the historically embarrassing White Sox their first win since July 10.

Are the twins, who are clinging to a WC spot, going to roll over one day this weekend? The A’s are pathetic but they’re not going to lay down for the one team in the AL they can claim superiority over. If they happen to win a game in the next week, it’s because the statistical probability of losing seven games in a row, even for awful teams, is low.

Someone on Reddit pointed out that next Friday is fireworks night at the Cell. I think I’m going to the game with my nephew. Now all I want in life is to witness White Sox break the modern losing streak record by falling to their hated crosstown rival and celebrating the milestone with a fireworks show.

I was going to say I can't imagine the A's sweeping them, but the A's have apparently been super hot. They're 10-5 over their last 15 games.

Because the WSox keep finding ways to fall deeper and deeper into the abyss, Luis Robert has completely fallen apart as a hitter. His season K% now sits at 36.6 and is climbing.  Since July 15th, 13 games, Robert has a 52.8 K% and a 34 wRC+. Just this last offseason the WSox could have could a huge farm altering package, now I'd be pissed if they did PCA straight up.
