Stupid Angels had 2 out in the 8th inning but the 2nd baseman couldn’t catch a pop in just on the grass in the outfield which let the WS tie the game. Next batter singled to give the Sox the lead.

Geeze the Sox may never lose again. Looks like they had big crowds the last two nights. Still 1 more to go for infamy

One of them was a 'bring your dog to the park' night which always draws recently.  The other was the final night game of the season so I'm guessing that's why it was well attended.

I'm hoping they go 1-3 or worse because the idea of winning less than 40 games in a season is just so jaw dropingly bad, its difficult to comprehend.

Will be interesting to see what they do this weekend in Detroit against a Tigers team attempting to clinch a playoff spot/make it to WC2.  Minnesota has been so bad though that they're virtually clinched a spot at this point, and the difference between WC2 and playing the Astros vs. WC3 and facing the Orioles seems negligible.

Still can't believe that Tigers team is going to make the playoffs.  We faced them in like what mid-August and they had a worse record than us and really didn't look like anything special.

Funny you mention that series.  They lost 2/3 to the Cubs and were 62-66.  They then went on to win 6 straight and have gone 23-8 since the series loss to the Cubs.

They sent Javy home.

You have to listen to the call of the last out of the WS game against the Tigers.  With a win, the Tigers, amazingly, clinch a playoff spot.  So there's a lazy fly ball to right center. And after the catch, the WS announcer doesn't recognize the Tigers accomplishment.  Rather, he goes right into a "There it is..." moment about the WS having the most losses in a single season in the history of modern baseball.  And he sounded cheerful. almost proud to be not only witnessing this feat first hand, but to actually be announcing it live on air.  It's comical.

One more milestone to go:

Playing an entire 162 game schedule and not winning 40 games. Still a pretty good chance that happens.

Not while playing a hungover Detroit team today.

Obviously it was too little too late but the White Sox have gone 7-6 in their last 13 games. If they started playing better sooner they might have avoided the embarrassment of breaking the loss record.

According to a report Jerry is exploring a sale of the WS. He want to own a team in Nashville.

Jerry has done this before. When the state isn’t giving him what he wants he threatens to sell or move the team. He isn’t getting his way with funding, and he shouldn’t. So now the reports come out about him selling. Typical rich man tantrum.

I know the 8 wins came against the A's (who sucked), the Angels (who sucked) and Tigers (who had already clinched a playoff spot) - and that the first two of those could have come in June and we wouldn't have noticed - but I'm a little disappointed the Sox managed to end the year 8-6 and only finished with 121 losses rather than 124 or 125. Would have been better if they had clearly been the worst team of the modern era.

The gambling site I use put out over under win totals and the White Sox is 50.5. I did a bit of googling and found a few in the 58-61 range in years past (the 2019 Orioles coming off a 115 loss season were still at 58). But it’s pretty crazy the over under has the Sox going 51-111 this year.
