the friend/nanny? said something like "if it were me i'd post the screenshot(s?)" which is worryingly specific

here's the full text:

I would assume that's more about infidelity than DV, although I guess he could have threatened her via text.

Which could still be anything. Could just be something embarrassing, like texts with a girlfriend.

it's also within the context that she's already plainly accused him of hitting his wife, and still implying the texts were somehow even more damning and that he gets off light by omitting that, though i could be reading between the lines a bit too much here

Russell not in uniform tonight to allow him to work through this matter.

Theo mentioned not sure when he'll rejoin team.

I guess i will weigh in, but i think (hope?) it won't really move the needle much on the topic.

As a whole, I don't care if any athlete (or even anyone) cheats on their significant other. I have known/suspected friends of doing that before, but it's not my business. I don't like it, but I don't know what is going on with their relationship. Hell, I don't believe I've ever "cheated" on anyone I was with because it was always while we were "on a break" (i.e., not together - *insert Friends reference*) but there is some grey area there I'm sure. Anyway, I just kind of assume it's a pretty typical thing with athletes and famous people in general. Again, you can certainly judge and that is fine, but I try not to insert my feelings when I don't have any clue what is going on in his/her relationship.

The DV is, of course, a completely different story. I hope it's not true but I will be judging him on that in the interim and I doubt we will ever know the truth and so maybe I'll never look at him the same again. That sucks if it is all untrue, but it is what it is. But if it came out tomorrow that Zobrist cheated on his wife it wouldn't make me like him - as a baseball player - any less. For all I know their significant other could have been sleeping around during the whole time. In short, I just don't care about other people's love lives. Let them figure it out. If it's someone close to you and you know the situation and they are being hurt then that is one thing. But, if it's from a typical "outsider" point of view I just look the other way. I have too much horsefeathers going on in my own life to care about some random person's love life.

Yeah, what goony said... and from word of mouth il just say that before DV allegations came into the picture, I saw Rizzo and addy as similarly brotastic partiers/womanizers. Which is totally fine imo if you're not married.

Is that recent on Rizzo or from a while ago? I think I remember reading he's only been dating this girl for a year.

i mean maybe he went totally straight and narrow and faithful after spending years living the single life the way he did, but i would doubt it. i think the percentage of these athletes that don't cheat is very small.

but what i spoke of is just his reputation among industry people and such.

Sorry for getting a bit off topic, but For those who think cheating makes you not such a good person - I agree - how many of you who talk about getting hammered on here have gotten behind the wheel while intoxicated?

look I hate the cardinals too, but let's leave them out of this.

i thought it would be years before we started finding out which guys from the 2016 team are bad people

I assume you mean besides Lackey.

Lackey is a bad person? The guy eats one lousy child and all of a sudden he's a bad person.

Derek Jeter probably had the right idea how to handle things as a young baseball star...

Stay single, bang anything that moves, get married after you retire.

And don't hit any of them

And ensure the survival of herpes

Kris Bryant runs a [expletive] and dog fighting ring.

Ben Zobrist killed Laura Palmer.

Kyle Schwarber texts while driving.

Kyle Hendricks has a crawl space full of dead Girl Scouts.

Dexter Fowler sold his soul to the Cardinals.

Hector Rondon may or may not have used a private email server.

Anthony Rizzo used the proceeds from the Rizzo Family Foundation to fund KB's underground [expletive] and dog fighting ring.
