Well, it was pretty obvious when he posted whatever it was about a new beginning with a new ring a while back that something bad had happened, so I can't say I'm completely stunned that something worse may have happened.

Ugh.

typical sportsmockery grain of salt even though this isn't anything groundbreaking.

That tweet could be made about 51 percent of society, so agreed, not really anything too shocking.

I've never really understood the public, moral outrage at cheating so I honestly don't care about that horsefeathers but I really hope he never was abusive. We'll probably never know what the true story is there so that sucks.

I get if you don't feel it yourself but it's weird that you don't understand it. People generally like when people treat other people well and act in a generally moral way. A public figure who cheats on their spouse (and not some open marriage kind of way) goes against that, so people get upset.

Oh, fine, whatever, I get it and think it's stupid

how is it stupid? do you not judge people for other shitty ways they might treat people poorly and inflict emotional harm on them?

i am obviously much less bothered by his infidelity than by the possibility that he physically harmed her in some way, but there's no question that it is a shitty thing to do and makes him a shitty person.

Cheating is a complex thing that involves a whole lot of factors and since I'm not in their (or anyone else's)relationship I think it's silly to make moral judgments about someone else's relationship issue. Relationships horsefeathers up all the time. I don't see why that makes someone who did something in the context of that relationship a bad person. I guess there could be an instance of a power assertion thing that would be pretty bad. Like, if he did cheat a bunch and then blame her for it like was quoted and that starts to get in the realm of abusive but that's not the same thing as general infidelity.

Not really.

He's a young rich ballplayer who knocked up a lady, got married and apparently started cheating right away, frequently. This isn't some 7-year itch thing or a relationship that has drifted apart. If she's outing him on instagram the way she did it's not some mutual thing where the spark just isn't there anymore.

infidelity is horsefeathering stupid no matter how you slice it. if you're not feeling the person you're with, talk it out/go to couples therapy, get a divorce or break up with them. plus there's children involved and the psychological ramifications and burdens they have to carry with them about their father cheating on their mother.

goony is right: have a moral compass.

Then obviously the relationship wasn't at a certain point yet where they should have been married. Relationships are mutual and for whatever reason he wasn't getting what he needed/wanted from her. I just don't care about the moral outrage at someone cheating. Especially to the level where a person is a "piece of horsefeathers" for it. I think that's silly and shortsighted.

where is the link to the article about all of the people being rightfully accused? donzo wins this round

Cleary the wife and friend are secretly together came up with the plan to get knocked up to get an mlb players baby then falsely accused him of this stuff. Where does that fall in the top 25?

Hahahah! I was THIS close to including a line about "how soon until this guy says something, like, 'well, we can't have an opinion without all of the facts,'" as if at some point some kind of peer-reviewed, footnote-crammed dissertation about the trials and tribulations of Addison Russell's love life is going to appear. Your ilk LOVE going on about "facts" and "proof" and "evidence" like you're Jack McCoy or something and somehow above celebrity gossip talk (but only when it's about someone you like).

Again, for the third time, all this is is people having an opinion about a public figure's known and accused behavior. If you think it's none of your business, then why interject trying to be the selective morality police because people are saying nasty things about an athlete you are a fan of?

There's a difference between infidelity and domestic abuse
