Wow. That's gotta be worse than losing it on a bunt. At least he got the no-no. But damn, it sucks he lost the perfecto like THAT. The unwritten baseball rules will see Tabata tomorrow.

Baseballs unwritten rules are meatbally garbage

Valbuena hits #18 AND #19 tonight. lol

And he's merely replacement level. It's like he forgot how to do everything except swing for the fences.

Eh? bWAR has him 1.3, fWAR at 0.8.

Great play by Donaldson diving into the stands to get the first out in the eighth.

In case people hadn't noticed, Chris Sale has struck out 10 or more in 7 of his last 8 games. His K-log for the last 8 games is...

That's some early 2000's era level stuff.

He added another 10 today.

Oh, and his pitch count over that course (including today)

Good thing the White Sox are using him in that fashion in such an important, franchise-defining season /puuuuuke

Especially today, they're down 6-1 and leave him in there for at least 2 hitters after he hit 100 pitches. Dumb.

Meh, there's literally 3 "high" pitch counts in there. It's not like he's some rookie out there who hasn't thrown a bunch of innings before. If he was piling up 120+ start after start I might be worried, but that's really not that bad outside of the 119 and 125 back to back.

120/112/119/125 is a very stupid stretch especially when followed up by 111/112.

Reds beat the Pirates in 13 and take 2 of 3 in the series. Hopefully the Braves can get at least 1 from them this weekend.

How does Robin Ventura keep his job?? White Sox up 4-0 in the 8th. Samardzija cruising but gives up a lead off single followed by a a full count walk (after several foul balls). After another single to load the bases, he hitsKinsler to bring in the first run. There's still no outs and the bags are juiced with Miggy at bat. Any idea at all that Jeffy might be tiring??? But Robin stays with him and he Ks Cabrera. How 'bout go to the pen now?? Nope. Victor up and he laces the first pitch fastball into the right CF gap for a bases clearing double and a tie score. Now he goes to the pen. Way to go Robin!

I know the White ox bull pen isn't great, but you can't let your pitch through that inning that late in the game with a four run lead. Why not bring in Robertson in the 8th to get out of the jam with minimal runs scored and then worry about the 9th while you're still leading. Methinks the White Sox management absolutely does not want to have to fire Robin, the golden boy of the organization. But his record is pitiful since August of his first season.
