I quite enjoy how every mention of Taveras's death in the national media conveniently ignores the fact that the dude killed another person because he was hammered and decided to drive.

STL 'honored' the one-year anniversary of his big league debut yesterday, which is I'm sure what prompted whatever mention you saw.

No word yet on the honoring of the woman he murdered through stupidity.

Yep, that's what did it.

Every mention, whether it's on tv or an article says something along the lines of "Taveras was killed in a car accident in October". Sometimes they say the girlfriend was killed also and sometimes they say that in was in the DR. Rarely does it say that it was a one-car accident and it never says that he was even drunk, let alone how drunk or the BAC.

In most US states, killing another person while driving drunk brings a murder charge, does it not?

ARam still not hustling down the line costs the Cubs again. He got doubled up as Braun was crossing the plate with what would have been the game tying run in the 9th.

And yes, I'm joking. Also, Holliday getting tossed for arguing balls and strikes was made funnier by their announcers whining about it and saying it wasn't necessary after West let him say his piece, told him to get back to the dugout and then tossed him when he kept going.

Pretty awful decision on a replay in the Royals game tonight may very well cost the Royals a win. Royals announcers said they feel the replay decisions this season have been really bad compared to last year acknowledging that they feel Royals have benefited from it as much as they've been hurt.

On Monday, Cashner became the first pitcher ever to allow 10+ hits and get 10+ strikeouts in less than 5 IP.

On Tuesday, Syndergaard became the second to do it.

I love everything about baseball. Well, except that team in St. Louis.

Yeah just saw the replay of that. Classic example of why this replay system is terrible. If you are that afraid of hurting Bob Davidson's feelings, let's not even waste everyone's time and have replay. That was probably 70/30 that he was out, but nope, he wasn't out by a full two steps, so we can't be 100% sure the ball was fully in the first baseman's glove (it was) by the time the runner's foot came down.

A woman at tonight’s Athletics-Red Sox game left on a stretcher when she was reportedly hit in the face with a bat shard during Brett Lawrie’s plate appearance in the second inning. The game was delayed so medical staff could tend to her.

Per the Boston Globe, the woman was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Be warned: distressing video and photos at the link. This is fucked.

Why the [expletive] are you so negative? Every post is like a damn obituary. Enjoy the fact the Cubs have some talent and are winning half their games. Dammit.

Jaime Garcia 2.25 ERA, 3.41 FIP

Wacha: 2.18 ERA, 3.56 FIP

Martinez: 2.94 ERA, 3.67 FIP

Lackey 2.93 ERA, 3.23 FIP

Lynn 3.03 ERA, 2.97 FIP

With the exception of Lance Lynn, every Cardinals starter is pitching well above their FIP. It’s so unbelievable yet so damn predictable.
