cards have 6 runs and 3 lob. i checked their season stats on b-r and lo and behold, they're hitting remarkably well with runners on base versus bases empty. seems to be a trend for them.

Trading for Harden will never not have been the right thing to do, but I really need to stop looking at Donaldson's numbers.

He would've just cost us Kris Bryant

Anything good in this world would have cost the Cubs Bryant.

That's pretty normal for just about every team.

Blue Jays down 9-7 bottom of the 9th against David Robertson and the White Sox.

Josh Thole single

Jose Reyes double

Josh Donaldson 3-run walk off home run

Donaldson's line for the night:

4-4, 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R, BB

I can only imagine the kind of bi-polar lunatic gold spewing from the beak of Hawk Harrelson all throughout that game.

I was watching the Toronto broadcast and switched over to the White Sox after the Reyes double to see if I would only hear silence, but alas, Hawk was not apart of this broadcast.

Marte with a great take on a 3-2 pitch just low and out of the zone, forces home a run; Pirates ahead of the Marlins 3-2, bottom 7.

apparently it doesn't only happen to us

While Kris Bryant no doubt eases the Donaldson pain, damned if I don't wish we had Chris Archer.

Today's line: 8IP 2H 0R 0/12 BB/K

Season; 68IP 2.12, ERA 20/82 BB/K

If only they'd chosen McNutt (if it was true those were their 2 options, and if I'm not mistaken they were similarly rated at the time)

Whoever started the Heyward taunting is banned for life. He just tied it in the bottom of the 9th with a solo shot.

Somebody watch the last play of the Cardinals game and tell me if that was dirty by Borjous.

It's only dirty if every slide into second base to break up the throw is dirty.

Plus, I'm not sure how much it really affected it....that was a really bad looking throw before Bourjos touched him.

Huh? Him sliding into his leg clearly affected the throw. I agree it's a grey area play, kinda dirty but not overly dirty.

Fair enough.

That's what speed gives the opportunity for, nobody else on the Cardinals gets on the catcher fast enough to even attempt that play.

I wouldn't call it dirty. But I guess I don't understand the [expletive] sliding rules at all now. I thought for sure they going to call it interference or whatever it is.

I'd say not dirty and not interference just because guys do it at second base all the time.

The Arizona announcers didn't think anything was wrong with it either.

i didn't mind the play until i heard their braindead announcer say "and Jhonny comes through again!"

yeah good job with that tailor-made DP ball they fucked up executing

I quite enjoy how every mention of Taveras's death in the national media conveniently ignores the fact that the dude killed another person because he was hammered and decided to drive.

STL 'honored' the one-year anniversary of his big league debut yesterday, which is I'm sure what prompted whatever mention you saw.

No word yet on the honoring of the woman he murdered through stupidity.
