Alright already Randall Girchuk, please [expletive] off. 2 run HR (Jason Heyward had single and stolen his 14th base before) to tie up with the Royals.

You do realize Grichuk hit 25 homeruns in Triple A last year at age 22, and 22 home runs the year prior in Double A, right? Him coming up and hitting some dingers really isn't all that surprising nor would I expect it to stop. always been a streaky hitter, that doesn't get on base but has a lot of power.

finding it in bb-ref's game finder...

other recent pitchers to duplicate that achievement:

Strasburg - 7 IP / 0 BB / 14 K

Tanaka - 7 / 0 / 8

Grimm! - 6 / 0 / 7

Ty Matzek - 7 / 0 / 7

Matt Boyd - 6-2/3 / 0 / 7

and some old guys i've never heard of

but Godley might actually be only P to do that while giving up no runs

Mike Wright this year did 7-1/3 / 0 / 6

and Jeff Pico in '88 - 9 / 0 / 6

both were shutout outings but failed to reach 7 K threshold

EDIT: [expletive] i now see it saying 'scoreless', yeah, checks out

6 IP, 0 ER. Bet he gets rocked against the good teams though.

The Brewers are 24-8 over their last 32, including a 15 game win streak in late June/early July. And they've been hitting the [expletive] out of the ball over that stretch. Kind of boggles the mind that even after that, they're still 19.5 back in the division/10 in the WC. Their 23-39 start to the season doomed them by June, but that's mostly because they never seemed to have more than 2 of their starters healthy at the same time over that stretch.

Welcome to NSBB! For reference, picking nits about the exact accuracy of frustration with a rival player isn't a great way to ensure a long stay. For example, while Grichuk does have power he's also a player whose HR is continuing an unexpectedly good season. His .371 wOBA is his highest by far since he was in A ball in the Angels system, so 'well you shouldn't be surprised if Grichuk hits a home run' doesn't quite cover it.

No idea where you're getting your numbers but they didn't go 24-8 over their last 32 (it's 18-14), they didn't have a 15 game winning streak (it was 8) and not only were they never 23-39, but 16 game under .500 wasn't even their low point (it was 25-46, after which they're 17-8).

Thanks for the welcome! And that's fair. The high wOBA isn't completely out of whack, but I get your point, and I understand that frustration, so I'm easing off. Lol!

Grichuk might've just stole talent from Matt Carpenter like MonSTARs off SpaceJam.

I love what he's doing, but he's really just an athletic Mark Trumbo (with worse peripherals actually) on a heater with an unsustainable BABIP. Some value there for a bit, but not a starting quality player over the long haul.

Pirates beat the Nats again. We're never going to get closer than within 3 games of them.

Well it helps when you can't beat the Phillies.

No kidding. If we can't go over .500 against the terrible teams we've been playing, it won't matter much what anyone else does.

Cardinals won 1-0 despite totaling all of 2 hits.

[expletive] them.

I want to stop getting mad at things like this, but every time this happens, I have to suppress the urge to throw things. Rationally, I understand a good chunk of their success comes from a good business model and a well run organization. But the luck that seems to permeate that organization defies explanation.

Just gotta keep hoping the hacking thing winds up screwing them in the long run.

The Brewers get the leadoff man on in the 9th and get caught stealing with the tying run coming to the plate. WTF.

The Yankees scored 21 runs tonight

They were down 5-0 after the first inning but scored 11 in the second.

The Yankee version of Rondon Fan probably quit watching after the first inning.

Keiper and Krukow are talking about finding hot chicks in the stands to distract Keiper when he was in a batting slump.

Those two are not close to Len and JD, but they are fun to hear.
