So what are we looking at for a rotation?

Zambrano

Garza

Dempster

Gorzellany

Wells

With guys like Silva still lurking and Diamond coming up to compete as well, does this eliminate Cashner from the rotation (something that I have had my doubts about from the get go) for another year?

How can you possibly forget about Shark??!?

Gorz has been on the block for well over a month, wouldn't be shocked if he were moved for prospects eventually.

Yeah, I could easily see him being dealt in the near future with this trade near completion. Heck, maybe the Yanks will overpay since Pettitte told them this morning they should basically forget him for now.

The Cub Reporter just tweeted:

Levine says up to 8 players could be in involved in Garza/#Cubs deal

Hendry had to sweeten the pot even more. Haha.

YEAH HE PROBABLY TRADED 7 GUYS FOR HIM

OH JESUS GOD NO NOT FULD HE WAS THE FUTURE.

You laugh, but I bet somewhere on Cubs.com or in some crappy blog's comments, someone is making this post.

It hurts bad because Guyer and Lee had speed. I advocate speed in this game and all sports. The home run approach hasn't worked for us in 102 years.

Don't post stuff like that without a spoiler. My brain now hurts.

Still laughing about the fury if Colvin were part of this deal

If you couldn't read the sarcasm there, not sure what to tell you at this point.

We all got it. The point was that it was the most hilarious thing in the history of the world.

Glad you appreciated it that much. I'm taking this routine on the road.

One of Colome or McGee(since it's not going to be Hellickson or Moore) had better be included. Since I have no hope of adding Jennings, I have no idea who they have in their system that's an OFer.

Where is McGee these days in terms of where he was pre-TJ?

No idea on velocity, but he had a very solid year between AA and AAA last year. K rate was excellent at both levels.

Is it kind of funny that people are bashing Hendry for making stupid trades but are upset that he is trading a guy (Archer) that he actually traded for?

Sort of. The people flipping out over selling high on DeRosa were dumb. People frustrated that both Archer and Lee were traded for the likes of Garza are much, much smarter than them.

Who's teasing?

Now can we get back to actually discussing Garza instead of me?

Garza was actually quite good against Boston and New York if memory serves.

ERA/WHIP

Os - 3.03/1.190

Sox - 3.83/1.242

Yanks - 4.48/1.402

Jays - 2.14/1.189

It's going to be tough for his numbers to be a whole lot better against NL Central competition. Especially since the defense behind him will be worse.

Wow. I am kind of getting excited for the season now! We are going to make a run boys and girls, where it will lead no one knows.

He'll be happy to know that Levine referred to the minor league OFer we're getting in return as a "speed" guy.

Without knowing what the Cubs got in return (besides Garza), they did give up a lot.

Also anyone else think that by trading for Lee Tampa has admitted they don't view Tim Beckham very highly? Prolly should have picked Buster Posey.

The general perception of proposed Cubs-Garza deal from rival evaluators: Cubs give up a lot of volume, but no real can't-miss star prospect.

Gonna have to agree with this completely. I love this trade right now.
