I'd probably rather he not have grabbed him, but coaches let it fly and lay into kids in full view of everyone all the time. It's as part of the game as anything, and realistically, players only really are hurt by it when they know they didn't deserve it. The rest of the time, the get over it. It's just how coaching is.

And Dmac will be back, and he'll be back because of the sort of things we saw out of him today, and anyone advising him with half a brain will make sure of it.

I don't know about that. I'm sure he'd rather make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year overseas than be the whipping boy. Was it his fault Tisdale dropped two great passes from him that should of been dunks, or that Davis airballed an open 10 footer when we were surging and back within 5? Once that happened DMac forced a bad shot, but I can understand why he's frustrated with the lack of talent around him.

It's like a broken record, depth and talent. The two things missing from this team. I just hope that Leonard grabs a significant portion of the front court minutes next year because Davis has looked awful this year.

I just don't see it. Weber usually plays the older player over the young guys when he has an option to do so.

Yeah he is the Dusty Baker of college basketball. Leonard is the best big man to come into the program since Cook and will struggle to get tick. Weber really frustrates me. I don't want Leonard playing thirty minutes a game but he should get more time than Griffey got this season.

I'd like to see a starting five next year of: McCamey, Richardson, Richmond, Griffey, and Tisdale.

With a bench of: Cole, Leonard, Davis, Paul, Bertrand, Head

I agree. I bet we get this though. DMac, D.J. Cole, Davis, Tisdale. I also bet it's a very interesting year as I imagine that Jereme will react very well to sitting and watching Bill Cole play.

I like Cole's shooting off the bench, and think he would provide a good spark there. Richmond will likely follow the McCamey career path and always be in Bruce's dog house. Lucky for him he has the talent to say [expletive] you and go to the NBA. Davis shouldn't start, he is just too enigmatic, and brings no energy to the floor. Tisdale needs to work on his grip, and is still a Nick Smith look alike in the post.

I agree with a lot of that. I will just put out there though if he messes with Jereme we are done getting 5 stars players to come here. 5 stars don't sit behind Bill Cole.

I hope Bruce is smart enough to know that his bread is buttered by Jereme's success. Both will be defined by each other.

I gotta think Jereme' starting, I don't believe Weber is the Dusty Baker of college basketball. I do believe he values hustle and defense, these are the primary reasons we see too much of Cole and Jordan.

Lunardi still has Illinois in as the last at large. I'll be shocked if it stays that way unless they win at least 1 game and maybe 2 in the BTT.

Plus we would need every single torunament to go as planned. We need two wins to get in, imo. I can't see us beating a full strength Wisky team.

That's the biggest problem. Even if we beat Wisky the bubble is going to shrink too much. Real sad to think our season was determined in a high school gym in Las Vegas.

The Bradley game that I watched online was a joke. I didn't get to see the Utah one, had to work. The Bradley game was probably one of the worst coaching jobs I've ever seen. Hey we have a 5 point lead with 3 minutes to go. Let's run the clock out. That worked out about as well as one would expect.

Are there usually such wild fluctuations among the bracketologists this time of year? I'm seeing some brackets that have Illinois in, some with them not even close, some with South Florida in for God's sake.

Lunardi bumped ND all the way up to a 9 seed, which I'd think indicates the Irish are pretty safe, but I'd love to beat Seton Hall, upset Pitt and play our way up to maybe a 7, increasing the chances of a 16 run with a favorable draw. As a 9 you're looking at Kentucky in round 2 which is basically endgame (although I guess of all the 1's I'd most like to play UK since they're young).

I'm not really a Weber fan, but he had to do that. It would be way worse to let that player walk all over him and leave the huddle.

as a coach, you want dmac to be responsible but without losing that edge. mccamey is the captain of his team and he knows that his teammates' eyes are always on him. sometimes, your team members need to see you stew a little bit to realize that they're sucking it up. pat riley used to call time outs and stand with his back to his team the whole time and not say a word.

maybe bruce should have let dmac do what he was doing there and let the players be adults. sometimes adults send messages in different ways and that includes being passive aggressive.

Every coach worth his salt would have done the same thing there.

I don't think Crandall is getting much time at all next year. Leonard's going to struggle to get playing time because he's a freshman big man, and they usually struggle making the jump. That and there'll be 2 seniors who started the previous 2 seasons ahead of him. I think this is the wrong season to be complaining that Weber won't play young guys. He pushed Griffey ahead of the senior Keller on the depth chart. He started the year with 2 freshman in the backcourt, and DJ has been there all season. Paul started the first half and got out of control, and hasn't really earned his minutes back, though it does seem he's been getting increased minutes of late.

I think Weber's tried that strategy quite a few times with DMac, it's not like he's constantly undressing him on TV, if he were, that'd be an issue. Doing it once during what is the biggest game of the season for you is fine by me.

Has Dick Vitale and his one eye seen any Big 12 teams play other than KU this season? He has K-State at #15 (I know the loss to ISU this weekend was terrible, but that is pretty low for them), Baylor at #22, and Texas A&M unranked. Virginia Tech at #25? Their RPI is 52 while A&M is at 13. What a friggin' joke.

Pretty much everytime he is interviewed he has taken shots at McCamey. When he was interviewed by the Big Ten Network by Kendall Gill about turning the corner, he said he's better but he won't ever compliment him cause he just reverts back. He also always takes pop shots at him on his defense. Always. This is hardly the first time that Weber has called McCamey out.

The only complaints I have with minutes this year is Griffey should be getting more in the hopes of developing more. That and I wish Jeff Jordan would quit again this offseason.
