I think B&B called it correctly last yesterday - Weber is a good coach, McCamey and Davis are a couple of knuckle heads who aren't good basketball players.

I'd argue Hulls deserves a spot on the all-freshman team over Barlow, and I don't think that is my IU bias talking.

Hard to argue for anything with IU this year though.

From what I saw, I was not very impressed with Barlow.

Barlow has talent, but he needs to learn some discipline. Plus, he's kind of a d-bag.

He needs to learn how to shoot free throws too.

That, too.

Worst case scenario, I can see him having a career similar to Grant, provided that Barlow stops acting like a dumbass. However, I think the potential is there for him to be much better than that. I'm concerned that his attitude might not come around though.

D.J. was also frosh of the year with Crawford in the Coaches. Good to see since Crawford was awful down the stretch.

He apparently had some hip flexor issues, but I think a lot of it was just him wearing down over the course of a season.

He's a good player, no doubt. I didn't mean to insult him, just wanted to point out that D.J. had a really good frosh year also.

He did average 15 and 7. Not too many Illini point guards put up numbers better than that. Plus he did it while having to have a ton of pressure on him. I.E. when he plays great we are pretty good, when he plays average we suck. I thought he had a hell of a year.

Awful, yes, but he also had a back injury, groin injury, and the flu. He probably shouldn't have played as much as he did.

I think B&B we looking from the perspective of consistency, they've both shown flashes here and there and have the ability to be good players. But, for whatever reasons, one of them being something missing between the ears, haven't put it all together.

Your right. There is a difference between bending and breaking. Cal did the latter.

You're not your. You're. Cal has yet to be caught doing anything illegal. Thus I refuse to believe he started cheating now.....

Tory Jackson has led the Big East in assists 3 of his 4 years and never once appeared on an all-Big East team. He's a thoroughly unappreciated player, but ND is going to miss his consistently stellar ballhandling, creating and defensive ability next year. Abromaitis got robbed of Big East most improved player (not sure how you DON'T give it to a guy who goes from playing 80 minutes in his entire career to averaging 17 a game). Harangody on all-Big East first team and is the only Irish player to ever achieve that 3 times.

The Big East tournament is underway. Already can't wait for tomorrow night's game with Seton Hall/Providence.

I think a lot of it is going to hinge on his ability to hit those free throws.

He's a great athlete and driving to the basket is/should be a big part of his offensive game. At this point, teams are just going to hack him and let him brick his free throws. He hasn't impressed from mid-range and beyond shooting either. I don't think he even hit a 3-point shot on the year. I'm seeing best case scenario as him being an active and athltetic defender with the size to defend any guard in the league. If he starts hitting his free throws and drives to the basket more he could become pretty valuable.

He was 0-for-5 from beyond the arc this season. He still has some time to work on that. Not saying Barlow will become a great shooter, but keep in mind that Cuonzo Martin was 0-for-6 on three-point attempts in his first two seasons before becoming a great three-point shooter his final two years. I do agree that his value comes in driving to the basket/shooting within 10 feet. He also has value on defense, but he tends to be too aggressive, leading to foul trouble. He's actually not a bad rebounder either.

I'm curious what his work ethic is like. He's obviously immature, but you have to think he busts his butt in practice. Otherwise, Painter wouldn't have started him 11 times this season.

Wow, that's pretty phenomenal. Is that a one-time gig or will it continue in future years?
