This is just as ridiculous as Zook keeping his job

No. It's really not.

LOL at fans of other teams complaining about their basketball inferiority.

That's no joke..

But hey, on a positive note my alma matter just won the MVC tourney and is dancing for the 5th time in 7 seven years. Way to go Panthers!!

No. It's really not.

Which one took over a top 10 type team and ran it into the ground? Which one took over a program and shambles and gave a good year, then returned to shambles?

I see you're a fan of hyperbole.

Well kind of, but really what I am saying is pretty damn close to truth. Missing the tournament 2 of 3 years at Illinois is amazing. In fact besides when we were on probation, thank Bruce Pearl, we haven't had it happen forever. In fact I would almost say that Weber hurt Illinois basketball more than Pearl. Almost.

There's a huge gulf between the basketball results this season combined with the incoming recruits and the word "shambles".

And we haven't missed the tourney yet.

We are in shambles. Yet? You got us beating Wisky on a neutral court? I don't. As for next year. The team's gonna be similar. We will add Jereme, who should contribute from day one. Meyers is gonna be behind both Mike's and Tyler. Tyler can hardly get on the court now. I don't expect anything from Crandall coming off a serious injury for at least another year. And to make matters worse after the crap that went down today, I see no way that Dmac comes back. Weber showed him up on national tv. Name me any other coach that does that?

It's not unreasonable to expect Illinois, with all of its resources, to field a powerhouse program in either football or basketball.

I agree. I don't get why so many of our fans are ok with the crap we have.

I don't disagree. I am not satisfied with where we are at or have been the past few years. I do disagree about the program being in a state of "shambles" right now.

Indiana has been in a shambles. Illinois is far from that point.

The world isn't black and white. Just because I'm not saying that the program is laying in waste doesn't mean I'm happy right now.

Ok not shambles, we are in purgatory. Just good enough that people aren't screaming for our bafoon coach to be fired. That better?

Come on Tim, how can anyone say that Zook has done worse than Weber given what they both inherited? Zook was given crap and he has improved the program, not much, but still improved it. Who can argue Weber did the same in basketball?

What happened with McCamey? I saw a brief highlight on CBS of him bumping Weber. What was the deal?

He shot a crappy shot at a horrible time. Weber pulled him. He walked to the bench during the timeout and Weber grabbed him and yelled at him. Its hard to tell if DMac was pushing through him or just going to the bench. Either way I was hoping the 45 year old man would wait and handle it in private, but instead he was busy making a scapegoat out of his best player.

To be fair, DMac was playing like an idiot. He was throwing crap up there, and after the shot in question, he outright mugged the Wisky player with the ball and compounded it. It wasn't just that one sequence, either, but a good chunk of the second half that DMac was playing with his head up his ass. I don't see where Weber was that out of line. I am not happy with how things have been going, but it seems like you want Bruce to coddle these kids. I am not a big Weber fan, but it's not a head coach's job to pamper and massage egos.

Is this a serious question?

This season needs to end. I just hope that if we have multiple guys considering transferring that they make it known to Barta before they get their release.

Improvement. Competitiveness.

I said that before we didn't even show up for two road games this week. The last 3 games were over with 30 minutes to go, playing one really good team and two middle of the pack teams. That's unacceptable.

I believe the Illini can beat Wisconsin on a nuetral court, it's up to them, if they come to play, I don't think the Badgers can stay with them. It's not Weber' fault Mike Davis has been the invisible all season, ultimately, it's up to player, same goes for the rest of team. That being said, I don't think they'll beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament, they haven't played with a sense of urgency all season why start now?

Despite whatever went on with McCamey today, I believe it would be a foolish move for him to declare early. He won't be a high enough pick to justify the move, he'll be better served playing his senior year.

The last two games were embarrassing. I hope they actually show up for the Big Ten Tournament and compete in a game but they'll probably get smoked in the first round (becoming a recent tradition.)

Frank Martin did a similar act and was repremanded for it. You can't put your hands on a kid.

I don't want him to coddle him, I want him to wait until after the game is over and they've stopped filming, and then rip him a new one. I didn't like how he did it for the world to see.
