Things Groce hasn't done: 1. Landed a Big Ten PG. 2. Landed a Big Ten big man 3. Avoided a crushing losing streak mid season 4. Developed a consistent offense Things Groce has done consistently 1. Blown leads 2. Talked up average players and raised expectations 3. Been outmaneuvered in recruiting. Some his fault and some not. But at the end of the day, you need the horses. 4. Blown recruiting evaluations and lost key in state targets as a result. Things Illinois has done since 2005 1. Had a historic run of bad luck on the court, off the court, and in recruiting. At some point the breaks have to start moving our way again, but the fun is gone.

Amazing what happens when you aren't stuck running the baseline and spotting up from the corner on every possession.

I love the big ten network, they schedule the games far enough apart we very rarely have an issue with overrun. Crean is so insufferable. I know the Indiana win helps Illinois, but I really can't stand the Hoosiers at all.

This IU-MSU game has been an absolute pleasure to watch.

I'm so excited about Hill. He's proven to be the second best player in the State in his class, and can do just about everything on the floor. Hopefully he will turn into the type of wing scorer we were hoping Richmond could be.

About what I was thinking. This all sounds so very familiar... I honestly wasn't around much during da bum's heyday so I'm no bum expert. All I can say is I'm posting facts to support my arguments. Thinking Keady is a coach that Purdue should be embarassed of somehow is just weird. He had success over an extended period of time in one of the toughest conferences in basketball. Never at any point did I say you should be embarrassed by him. I do think he was on the bubble a lot. Hence I said what I said about us being on the bubble recently. Keady is a great coach, but Painter is beginning to show cracks just like Weber did at Illinois. He benefited from a down IU and good talent in the region early on.

It's tough to watch your team go from a national title contender to a perennial bubble squad at best. You'll get over it. I also read we're a real contender for Lyle, so the inevitable question is who are plan B and C at this point, because that's who we'll end up with.
