I hope he's the world's greatest bubble screen receiver because the Bears passing game won't have more than 1.5 seconds to get any plays off.

I know, I know. I thought Britton, Beaty or Unger would be too big a reach there, though. If we could, I'd have traded down to the end of the 1st and drafted an OL.

Sadly, I can't see Angelo taking an OL in the first round in consecutive years.

Everything to me points to a DE. Pass rush was weak last year. Ogunleye, Brown, and Anderson are all FA in 2010. Marinelli brought in to coach the DL. With him being the biggest offseason addition so far, I think they will give him another player to work with.

This is a spot where, if Maclin is still available, I'd be interested in the Titans trading up. It'd give the Bears the 30th pick (plus some, obviously) so they could grab their o-lineman and it would give the Titans a better, healthier version of Percy Harvin.

Reinfeldt doesn't seem to like WRs enough to do this, however.

Pass rush was a need, but I view the Marinelli signing as the move they make to get that pass rush, out of the same players.

Angelo has struggled with first round skill position guys, as well as ends. Their core skills guys who have had success are 2nd/3rd round types (Forte, Berrian, Hester). His first round selection of Columbo was somewhat vindicated with him starting at tackle for a contender years down the line. I could definitely see him taking another lineman this year, unless one of the top two QBs drop.

As a Bucs fan, if Larry English is there we will draft him. Everything I have read and heard says we absolutely love him. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up trading this pick for a QB, but if we have it the pick will be English guranteed.

20) Detroit Lions - Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss

because giving up 250 yards on the ground every week isn't a recipe for success in the NFL

Dang, I was hoping he'd fall to the Titans at 30. He and Haye would have been nice replacements for Albert.

well there is still one good OT left so let's go that route, and since we're replacing john runyan with stacy andrews and tra thomas is 100 years old, we could use one. winston justice has been lousy (i thought he'd be good); andy reid loves him some fatties.

so the pick is eben britton, OT, arizona.

post count padder has been PM'ed.

The Vikings have a bunch of needs (WR, CB, LB). With Harvin and Maclin gone right before me, I am turning elsewhere. Winfield isn't getting younger and will be leaving via FA or retirement soon. We need a successor, so:

With the 22nd pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest

I saw you taking a cornerback and got afraid that you were taking one of the two I've targeted for the Titans. Luckily, you stayed away from them. :D

I was probably going to take him with the Falcons pick.

Yeah, figured it was a longshot. I'd love it if it happened, though.

Bumping this to make sure it doesn't fall off the first page.

ElCaballo's slacking.

Yes I am. I coach basketball and we had a playoff game tonight so sorry for they delay everyone.

With the 23rd pick in the NFL Draft the New England Patriots select Darius Butler, CB UConn

I could see NE taking a LB here as well. But I think the need for a CB is more great.

Not a problem, even though you took one of the corners I like.

Ok, I was planning on using this pick to shore up the offensive line or maybe the defensive line (DE or DT). However, free agency changed these plans a lot. We lost two of our starting three linebackers from last year and a starting safety without replacing them. I think that a safety can still be found in free agency or later in the draft, so linebacker is the pick here. With the 24th pick the Atlanta Falcons select Clint Sintim OLB Virginia.

There is no way the falcons would be able to justify taking a TE in the first round.
