I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when it comes to TEs. Pettigrew is completely fungible.

Judging by your location...Coffman fan?

Very much so. But even leaving Coffman aside, Pettigrew is essentially a guard with good hands. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but it seems to me that there's lots of guys around who can do the same thing. I'd want a TE that can go get the ball in the red zone if you're taking one that high.

One of the steals of the draft could be a player like that. UF TE Cornelius Ingram is very athletic, but his injury is knocking him down quite a bit.

HE didn't help himself at the combine either, so he's a 5th rounder right now, but give him a couple years and he could be a real good TE.

I wouldn't be surprised if his problems at the combine were related to the ACL that kept him out. He's extremely talented, either way.

Well, 12 hours (roughly) have passed since Flames announced his intention and still no word from CFNBM, so with the potential that he's away from his computer for a while, the best course of action is probably to move along with the draft.

The Cardinals and Steelers' picks have been recorded and the first round is now complete. The final selections for the first round are on the first page in spoiler tags. The second round is now underway and the order is posted in the first post of the thread.

Cro Magnon and Detroit are now on the clock for the 33rd pick of the draft. I have PMd him.

Sorry about the delay guys. Went to the ugly SIU-Bradley game and then drove north for four more hours to go back home for break. I know how annoyed I get when people take forever to make their picks, so I apologize for any hold-ups.

As far as McCoy goes, I really like what he has to offer. I'm a huge Moreno fan though and if he's still on the board at 31 in the real draft, I think Arizona takes him. The only thing that concerns me about Beanie is his durability but I think he has a chance to be a real good NFL back as well. But regardless, any of those three backs would be a huge upgrade over what Arizona has right now.

ROUND 2

1. Detroit: Cro Magnon - Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech

because their pass rush sucks. as a bonus, opposing QBs won't be able to throw over Johnson's giraffe neck.

I am going to be out a bunch the next 2 days, so I will give my picks ahead of time with a backup option in case my first choice gets taken.

I am assuming that Torry Holt will be gone so the rams will need help there and on the offensive line.So my choices will be 1. Hakeem Nicks WR North Carolina 2. William Beatty OT Connecticut.

Wouldn't the Patriots now be on the clock thanks to the Cassell trade?

That's a good point. I've updated the draft order and PM'd ELCABALLO45.

Thanks raw and CCP. That trade completely slipped my mind when I was filling out the second round.

Alright, with the absence of ELCABALLO for 24 hours and no word from him, I'll go ahead and make the Patriots' pick to move this thing along.

With three second round picks, the Pats have plenty of opportunities to fill holes and get younger. They also aren't obligated to fill according to need primarily and can focus on getting the best player on the board. It just so happens, one of the best players left on the board also fills a need after the departure of Mike Vrabel and the age of Tedy Bruschi.

So, with the 34th pick in the draft, the New England Patriots select LB from Ohio State, James Laurinaitis.

Laurinaitis may well have been a fairly early first rounder had he come out last year and he's capable of playing both inside and outside. He's also a very smart football player, something the Pats seem to appreciate.

As per reggiemiller rules' instructions, with the 35th pick in the draft, the St. Louis Rams select WR from North Carolina, Hakeem Nicks.

Mike Aller and the Cleveland Browns are now on the clock. I will PM him.

Jaguars go with Kenny Britt | WR | Rutgers.

Soccer10k is on the clock, I will PM him.

I admittedly don't know all that much about the guys who will be in the second round but I'm looking for a OL. Just by perusing some draft sites I'm seeing Jamon Meredith, Steven Beatty and Phil Loadholt among OT and Andy Levitre, Trevor Canfield and Kraig Urbik among the OG.

Any of these guys worthy of being picked in this spot?
