I think the Knicks could beat the Spurs. Not so sure about the Thunder. But I think things are more chaotic in general than ever before. I don't think anything is a foregone conclusion. OKC, Lakers, and Toronto are the only teams left who have won a title in the last 7 years. If anyone else wins this year, it will be 8 different winners in 8 years.

If the Bulls are entering a rebuild, contracts like Williams are exactly the type they should be trading for, not away. Cutting him isn't great asset management either IMO. Just keep him for a couple more years and maybe in the last year of his deal he can be used as a matching salary in a deal if the Bulls are ready for that in their building process by then.

Yup, I think there is a decently high likelihood that the failed physical was somewhat on purpose. The Ravens knew they paid too much and that was their way out. Similar to the Lakers failing Mark Williams last year.

I can completely respect that even though I'm 100% the opposite. I tried to figure out why that was the case and I think this is why The Summer Olympics have so many either A) team sports or B) sports where lots of competitors compete together at the same time (swimming/track for example). I like that competitive aspect. My favorite events in the Winter Olympics are short track speed skating and curling, which follow that same formula. Many of the other events involve person after person racing against a clock/set score/judges, which can still be fun but just aren't as captivating for me.

It's not about assigning blame at this point. It's about rights and leverage. If he fails the physical no matter if it was known or not, the Hornets have the ability to cancel the trade. They can use that threat to re-negotiate the trade instead, which is what both sides did. The Bulls could have fought it in the sense they could have refused to re-negotiate and dared the Hornets to cancel the trade, but that's risky because if it actually happens you get nothing.

It's a lot, and I don't love it from the Pacers side. But it's a modern NBA type of trade. The Pacers did it because Zubac's contract is really good compared to his production for the next couple of years. So they can make a run at the title the next two years with a great starting lineup. I understand it even though it's a little more than I would have given up.

The Ivey trade makes sense as a guy who you can build up his value. But it could be another long restricted free agency situation like the Giddey one was this summer. I'm not quite sure as a general NBA fan what the Vuc trade is about. Earlier in the day I would have said maybe they want a look at Simons and to consider keeping him...but they just got Ivey? Or they are taking on the extra salary and doing the Celtics a massive favor in luxury tax bills for draft capital, but each side is sending out a second rounder? I assume the Bulls one is better, but that can't be the main motive? Which makes me wonder if they are just taking Vuc off the team to try to secretly tank and don't care that they didn't get anything.

The funny thing about the Shedeur honor is that is arguably not even be the worst AFC Pro Bowl QB over the last few years. Tyler Huntley made it in 2022 with 4 below average starts on the season. The Belichick thing is just ridiculous.

I'm glad that this will remain at 12 teams for next season. The 16 team model would have been ok as well. I wanted no part of the Big 10 24 team model. Not because of the number of teams, although I think that would have been a problem as well. I just really disliked the thought of each conference getting so many automatic bids. The schedule is the bigger issue for me and there were seemingly no discussions about that. It's ok the way it is, but getting it moved up would definitely be better.

Looking from the start of Salah's second year: 2022: 7-10, 4th fewest points allowed. Zach Wilson went 5-4, Mike White went 1-3, Flacco went 1-3. 2023: 7-10, 12th fewest points allowed. Zach Wilson went 5-7 (counting the game Rodgers went out after 2 plays), Trevor Simian went 2-1, Tim Boyle went 0-2 2024: They were 2-3 with Rodgers when Salah was fired. The Jets defense was allowing 17 points and 256 yards per game. They went 3-9 the rest of the year and the defense allowed 26 points and 349 yards per game. 2025: Jets hired a defensive coach so the defense went back to being good? Not exactly. 31st on defense and a 3-14 record. And while the defense traded away multiple of their best players midseason, they were really bad before that as well. Salah hasn't proven he can guide a functional offense so I have no idea if he will succeed as a head coach. I find the fit in TN strange with a young QB. But the Jets won more games under him they had any right to because he seems to be a great defensive coach. The Jets immediately were a completely different defense the moment he left.

I feel like I'm watching flashbacks, this is the Pacers season all over again in football. Enjoy it everyone, even if it doesn't end in the title it may still be the most fun season of your lives because of moments like these. But go finish this!

The one thing that gives me pause about the INT in the Bills-Broncos game was the Aaron Rodgers play a few weeks ago against the Ravens where he caught his own pass. That one was initially an INT and then was considered a catch on replay because he had his knee on the ground before it turned into an INT. But I still think based on the catch rules, the call yesterday was correct and that Rodgers one continues to be a horrific overturn. That inconsistency is a big issue though.

Peacock had an exclusive one in 2024, the one where it was so cold in KC that Mahomes helmet cracked when playing against the Dolphins. I think that was the first streaming only playoff game.
