If the Cubs managed to steal Heyward, their offense would be in an even bigger hole. I was glad to see Gase neutralize their strong pass rush with the WR screen to Alshon's and Wilson. Their pass rush wasn't the same afterward and their blitzing pattern changed. He can't be on the verge of getting one of those elite WR contracts, right? If not, his cap hit should be much lower if they sign him to a longterm deal instead of franchise tagging him. He wouldn't get Bryant money but wouldn't be surprised if a team gave him a 5 yr 65 mil deal with 40 guaranteed if he tested the market.

Is this like the "Cable" version of him? Does he have tiny hands or something? Based on his texting history, I doubt his hands could get any smaller.

I agree they should franchise him however a long term contract would be foolish at this stage.
