  1. Seems odd that guys are getting this much money this late in the game. Maybe it's not, but it certainly seems like it. I figured he'd have to settle for fewer years.
  2. Was that Kane's first career regular season hat trick? i believe so Yes. 2 in the playoffs. 1 in 09 vs. Vancouver to send the Hawks to the Western Conference Finals, and in 2013 ending with the game winner in double OT to eliminate the Kings.
  3. Jimmy Buckets for MVP!
  4. Who's the next Browns coach in a year?
  5. Um, I would have hated this move if we hired Loggains off the street THIS year. Because I would hope Fox could do better. If we did it last year, I would have been OK with it for the reasons Goony listed. I trust Fox's hires (though I didn't like the Fox hire). Continuity is about 85% of the reason I'm fine with this. See, to me, if 85% of the reason you approve is continuity, that seems like a bad move to me. Eh. Jay hasn't had any continuity since he's been here. I think it's a big deal. Also throw in the fact that Fox is over 60, Cutler isn't here for the super long-term, and I think it's kind of the best that we can do given the situation. If the Bears were going all-in in developing the QB of the future or had a young head coach that you'd project could be around long-term if things go well, then I think it'd be a bad move.
  6. Hmm. Blackmon, CarGo, Dickerson, Parra. All lefty hitters. Yeah, somebody's gone.

  8. When you have 2 of the top 5 players on Earth and evaluate talent well, it's going to be hard to be anything less. I've only seen them a couple times this year, but I think they are more explosive than they may have ever been.
  9. IU beat the piss out of the Buckeyes today. 9 in a row. 4-0 in the B1G, without James Blackmon Jr. Ironically, the defense is better without him also (not ironic, he's terrible on D). I only saw highlights, but it looked like Ohio St played the worst 1st half defense in basketball history. So many layups and open jumpers.
  10. Are you sure? I thought he went from OL to HC when somebody got fired.[/quote He's not sure, because it's not true. He was a head coach. Never an OC.
  11. That was the same argument for Tice, sans the OC experience for Loggains which I don't find all that comforting. I want them to hire the best guy, not just the guy who is already here. LOL. The OC experience is actually a big deal, compared to a meatball OL coach like Tice. LOL you know who has OC experience? Mike Tice I don't understand your point. He only has OC experience because the Bears were dumb enough to give it to him. And there's a huge difference between a career OL coach and a career QB coach.
  12. Kinda rooting for this at this point. Of course, if the end result is Manning/Brady for a trip to the Superbowl? Meh.
  13. Middle of the road offense with the combination of Jake Locker, Matt Hasselbeck, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, which is about all anyone else have been able to do with these QBs. Of course this is a downgrade, the OC was just the most sought after HC candidate on the market. Whisenhunt would be a downgrade too. Obviously, not as a big of a downgrade but teams don't typically get a better OC without firing the guy they had.

  15. I'm OK with this. We knew if Gase proved he was worth keeping with the Bears that he would be gone after a year anyway. Loggains provides some continuity, which is key and he does have OC experience.
  16. Yeah, I think that's it. There was a lot of speculation that this could happen if they didn't make the playoffs a few weeks ago. Dirk Koetter is a well sought after offensive coach. And I don't think Tampa wanted to lose him as he was thought to be the heir apparent to the HC job. Also don't think they wanted to give Lovie chance to ruin another offensive coaching hire (this is the 1st he got right and he had help).
  17. Looks like multiple ligament injuries for Jaylon Smith. His 2016 season has to be in question. I think he could fall. I'm all for taking BPA at 11 and then trading back into the 1st for Smith if he starts to fall into the 20s. Actually, I'd be willing to do this for any player I like that's starting to fall. 1) Playoff teams are more likely to move around in the draft, because they don't "need" top end talent and typically those teams (Seattle, NE come to mind) do their own scouting and don't necessarily pick based on traditional big boards you see online. 2) It's what the Vikings did to build their team to the playoff team it is today. 2012 traded back into the 1st for Harrison Smith after taking Kalil. 2013 traded back in for Xavier Rhodes and Cordarelle Patterson. 2014 traded back in for Bridgewater. Granted, the Vikings had extra 4ths in a couple of those years, but typical price to get into the mid-to-late 20s has been a 2nd and a 4th. But the Bears have the extra 6ths they can manuever with, plus the potential of trading Martellus Bennett for another pick (probably no more than a 5th similar to Marshall trade). But pick at 11, try to move back into the 1st (for Smith if he falls, for a pass rusher, or for an OL or even a QB) and then try to get extra picks by trading back in the 3rd.
  18. So...... Browns, Dolphins, Giants, 49ers, Eagles need coaches so far?
  19. Ragland's a reach at 11. I like him more after 20. Of players that could be on the board at 11, I'd be most interested (in no order): Myles Jack DeForest Buckner Ronnie Stanley Robert Nkemdiche Leonard Floyd Also, don't know why you'd want to pay McClellin money to come back and play here. Acho's pretty mediocre too. I also don't really want to pay Porter, and I love the guy. But he's gonna be 30, has missed a ton of time the last 4 years and I think you can get a more reliable CB for slightly more than he will cost. But I do understand the thought behind keeping him around. I'd also probably see how team friendly Forte is willing to sign. I don't really think Langford did very much to prove he can be the #1 RB next year. He dropped a handful of easy passes, and he finished with a lower YPC than Forte. He and Carey would probably be a serviceable RB tandem, but nothing more. Plus, it would be just Langford, Carey, and Senorice Perry on the roster at the position. Perry has never had an NFL carry and missed this whole year. So, the Bears still probably have to add a RB. Could add another late pick, but I think a veteran would more likely be added to the mix. And if this team plans on being good, I think they'll need more than an average to slightly below RB group.
  20. Bears in the 11th spot in the draft, if Tampa loses to Carolina. 10 if they pull off the W. And Brandon Marshall just finished his 2nd 10-win season for a team that watches the playoffs. 10 years = 10 non playoff teams.
  21. Saints just won. Bears move up a slot in the draft. Bears play at Saints next year if the Bucs beat Carolina, if not, go to Tampa again.
  22. Until the next to last drive, there was only 1 ball that hit the ground from Jay. At one point he was 15-18, with 2 INTs and 1 dropped pass. He also hit on a few deep balls and finished with well over 10 ypa and 2 TDs. Of the 3 INTs, 2 he was hit (by Ziggy Ansah) as he threw and the other was a DPI that didn't get called.

  24. Great throw by Jay. Bellamy failed. DB was a little early. Doesn't matter.
  25. This is the worst DL and WR group on paper that I've ever seen. Top 4 guys in each group all out.
